Well they all ripped off Voltron!!! Wily Kit and Kat, Pidge, Copperkid...
And what's the deal..."The Mime Planet"--I forgot that detail from chidlhood--. One could only imagine what it is like living there with everyone trying to get out of invisible boxes or pull an invisible rope ALL THE TIME!

And the whistling, don't forget the damn whistling. The Copper Kid was the Wheelie of his time.
I loved Silverhawks! I had most of the figures, but Bluegrass remained out of my reach, mainly because my parents were to cheap to buy the Mirage.

I'd noticed that too.
If that's the case, Ravage MUST turn into Windhammer's ginormous Tuning Fork.
I'd wondered if anyone else noticed that "Cyber-Stompin' Bumblebee" bore a resemblance to Mol-Ec-U-Lar. >_>;

Rip-off or not, I kinda like the new Soundwave! I must have missed that pic, and it and Starscream are the only Animated figures I think look decent.
I'm not knocking the show that isn't out yet either, cause there's a difference between enjoying a show despite the art style, and having a figure that doesn't look good to my eyes.

yeah, Copper Kid freaked me out, he was like some idiot savant who can't speak... kinda like a sick homage to R2-D2...

If Cyber-Stomping Bumblebee looks like anything, it's Scott Steiner.
Anyway, I noticed the Silverhawks similarity, too. Wasn't that guitar back then used as a weapon, as well ?

I had thought something similar about the Silverhawks when I first saw the pictures.
Do we definately know that the guitar turns into Lazerbeak or is it going to be the name of his guitar like BB King has Lucielle?

Why didn't they use Soundwaves gun or take his engine out to be Laserbeak
This whole idea is retarded
His guitar focuses his 'Soundwaves' as a weapon he can use.
Man you need to watch Dexter's Lab and note the Justice Friends...Valhallen
agreed.. i totally thought soundwave looked like valhallen. good catch

Yeah, he was said to be a really smart mathematician, and yet Bluegrass is teaching him basic astronomy so he can fly the Mirage. Wha?

Don't diss it. I drew a Soundwave that
was a guitar.
Yeah, I was born in '93, so Silverhawks is an unknown.

Don't forget that the Thundercats company not only eventually came out with Silverhawks, but came out with Tigersharks the year after that. All three shows featured teams of heroes with an animal theme. The company had a formula and continued to use it.

ohhh, goody! Tigersharks! though of the 3 cartoons this one i'm the least familiar with, having seen only a few episodes here and there.

Again, the guitar apparently becomes Lazerbeak, so it probably won't be a part of Soundwave. I guess we'll see if it's a Silverhawks allusion if 'beak produces this distored Telly-Hawk scream.
Not that I'd mind, I love that noise.

Remember the G1 ep in which he and Screamer decide it's best to take over the world with a disco?
Well this is a homage, he and a few other cons will start a band and rock the world to bits!

A guitar? Its not so bad. Soundwave can cause damage with sound resonance, clobber foes about the head with it and then let it Transform and have Laserbeak peck some optics out.
Its slightly more interesting than Soundwave simply producing the sound energy himself.
Maybe it also turns into an axe of some sort?
