They're made of junky plastic, leaving stress marks everywhere.
Some are imperfect in configuration design, leading to breakage and other such fun.
"Automorphs" that have transformation problems?
Inferior paint quality?
And the Decepticons look like ASS.
http://seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6729&sid=Beast Wars had it's turds here and there over the years, but they weren't this defective, non-functional or ugly within such a small time frame.
I must have gotten extremely lucky with my haul so far. I have yet to have any problems with breakage or stress marks. The plastic feels the same as the Cybertron figures I own, oh and I own the so called defective Bumblebee. He's been transformed half a dozen times with no issues. You follow the instructions and he works, you don't and he breaks.
The only issues my movie toys have is brawls shoulder tabs, but thats easily corrected, and Bonecrusher is to small, other then that I find them some of the best figures in years.

If people stuck in the dark ages could just get their preconceptions of what these characeters "should" be out of their heads and just look at the movie figures themselves they'd see they are brilliant. A perfect and fluid transition between car and robot. Hardly any kibble in vehicle mode and complex forming, intricatly detailed robots within. Just give Movie Ironhide and Ratcher a GOOD looking over in Bot form and take it in that those were trucks just minutes before.
What's really the issue here is quality over quantity. To keep things realistic you can't get both simply because a price point had to be kept in target of a "parents budget". So some figures suffer a few shortcomings.
Bottom line, if deluxes were Alternator scale and cost $20 and Voyagers were more refined and $40, these would be the most perfect TF toys ever made.

NONSENSE! It's CLEARLY Dinobot's head!

Too bad his alt mode is so not-velociraptorish. It's a hulking tank thing, a mode which would fit pre-Rex Megatron better.
ahem

Ok, so he's not technically a 'tank', but Wreckage is still a bulky powerful vehicle instead of a swift agile one. So my statement still stands

Hey I love the beasts and cars... but here is my point... At botcon two (?) years ago when they announced the movie to us.. they announced cars... everyone happy... but somehow I would have now preferred them to say beasts... I mean other than the Jazz fig.. I really do not like any head mold as an original G1 Char.. but these beastwars recolors have opened my eyes... I see the light... AND IT BURNS

wow, someone beat me to posting my own digital repaint...
Anyway, Waspinator from Starscream I saw once before (in someone's sig, I think) but I had never even considered Wreckage as Dinobot... that was pretty cool! As for the quickstrike... well... like I said, that was me... but still cool.
