What do you think of movie Voyager Prime?
I'm not looking for a comparison to Leader Prime, but I'd like to read your opinions on his features and gimmicks. Where's his Automorph? How's his alt. mode? Is his robot mode any fun? etc.

I don't care what folks say about his backpack, I simply LOVE my Voyager Prime!!! He has fantastic articulation, doesn't fall down by a light breeze, looks more movie accurate than leader Prime does, has great colors, and simply looks fantastic!
His automorph is decent, though nothing to write home about. Not bad though.
His weapons are awesom, and has two shooting missiles.
His truck form is really nice overall. I personally like it. It isn't Leader-level in detail, and fit and finish, but it is rather nice. Robot mode is where he shines though.
Transformation is really nice. Not to hard, not too easy. ust right IMO. Gettig his legs to fit onto the cab in truck mode takes some practice, but once you know how it works, it's no big. They do snap down.
I really, really, REALLY recommend him.

robot mode is awesome. his alt mode is nothing to write home about, but peter cullen in the driver seat is cool, and when you open the door, he "disappears." his automorph is in his legs, similar to ironhide's. his weapons are pretty much two shotguns. alot of people don't like the backpack, but in person, it isn't that noticeable. he is extremely poseable and fun to play with. he gets a

Two words: Love him! I have the Robovision one, so I'm missing a few paint apps, but even still, I love this Prime. Robot mode is much more movie accurate looking that Leader Prime (who I love too btw) and he's really poseable, which is a huge factor for me.

I love purely for both modes. In my opinion he is more movie accurate than Leader Prime. I'm planning on making it so I can just pull the backpack off and put a piece that could go in the hole on his back that looks like his back from the movie.
I particularly don't like his guns, however, because they are too springy. If you barely touch the launching button the fire. But that's just me. In all other situations and everything else I recommend Voyager Prime 99.9%. (The extra .1 being his guns.)

How can anyone say that the backpack isn't noticable? It's a huge chunk of clunk, it doesn't conviently go away.
I sold my Voyager Prime, but overall he was not bad for his price point. He didn't stand really really well I thought, as you had to counter balance him some. His arms and upper legs are sleek for what they are, but his hands are visible in truck mode, his "knees" and shins are kinda huge looking and his hollow feet are kind of cheap feeling. "Attack mode" was kind of odd, but his guns are a nice touch. Though I don't like the dual setup in bot mode, it's nice they incorporate so nicely into his alt mode. Clever. He doesn't always fit together so well in truck mode, some things don't line up on the cab. He could have used some paint apps on the back where the trailer would sit, instead of the all blue treatment. It's nice in a way that he's not as ratchety as LP. Smooth movement didn't get on my nerves as much. His red shoulder pads look out of place.
I was astounded though that his head was made up of so many pieces. When I took him apart to paint him, it was extremely easy to do since it's made up of 5 parts or so. The head is a work of art by itself.

The backpack doesn't bother me too much. I just think of it as him packing some extra ammo/firepower back there, or a jetpack.

I leave the missiles out, problem solved.

The only real gripe I have with Voy Prime is his transformation. Don't get me wrong, he looks FANTASTIC in robot mode, but the fake chest was simply not necessary. They could have used the cab somehow. But, otherwise, he is still a very, very nice figure to own and enjoy. I simply love his posability and overall look in both modes.

I have the robo vision version as well and I love him I had the option to get either leader class prime or him and chose him. I never liked leader class prime because the gun is attached to his arm. This one is amazing because he has duel guns which is always a plus and they aren't attached to his arms. The automorph is in his legs I beleave.

I find whenever I need input, youtube videos can also provide a visual guide as to whether or not I like a toy. That way you get to see the features, the transformation process, and hear the opinions of experts who have lots of other toys for comparison.
For Voyager Prime, I particular like:

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj7Ftk54BnU
Not only does Josh review Voyager but also compares to Leader so you can get an overall impression.

I love Voyager Prime. He's tons of fun to play with, and the big smokestack guns are way better than Leader Primes' 'weapon'. Plus, the little driver guy that sits in the driver seat, that's a real nice touch that makes the figure that much cooler. His automorph, I don't know, but it's probably in his legs, cuz that's all the automorph really does is pop out leg parts or feet. Backpack? So what.....it's a great toy.

I also have Robovision Prime but haven't opened him. At the time I bought Robo, I also got Leader Prime the same day, so there was no need for two open Primes. But over the summer when Voyager Prime came out I picked him up and so Robovision Prime remains in his prison.

This is what I did too. Robo in box, Leader out. If I did buy another Voyager, it would be to repaint it. But seeing as I have 0 free time lately, that's probably not going to happen.

I got a robovision prime. Cute small semi. Less poseable comparing to classic primes and rm prime (same price range), because voyage prime's waist area is fixed, plus he's back heavy. Plastic feels cheap. With that said, I may still pick up G1 color voyage prime when he comes out.

I like my Voyager Prime. I wasn't too cool with the two chests thing, but I've gotten used to it. Pretending the backpack is a jet pack is a great idea!
Right now I have him set up like he's shooting in the sky. He thinks he's shooting Decepticons but he isn't. He's actually shooting at Jetfire and a passing passenger plane.

He's a cool figure. The backpack does suck, but hey ... nothing we can do about that.
There is no comparision between him and leader prime, because ... well, Leader Prime absolutely kicks the crap out of the Voyager version.
I do agree that there is a more movie accurate bot mode with Voyager Prime, to some degree. His build is slender ... like in the movie, and his feet are more accurate.
Voy. Prime's automorph is pretty cool, but don't knock off the spring loaded panel ... it's a pain to put that sucker back on!
His alt. mode, meh. It doesn't scream "voyager" like the other voyagers. I really feel like it's more of a deluxe scale.
