This is what Megs should look like. I plan on doing something similar if I get the balls to repaint a $40 figure.

Considering that it's an ugly alien with an ugly alien doing yoga/karma sutra alt mode made from dull, cheap grey plastic all covered in ugly paint, I can't justify the price.
However I really want to get the Voyager Megatron, the one with all the ice - yeah, he looks neat and has an alt mode that looks like an alien aircraft rather than a megatron attempting that sex position that made me have two days off work.

$40 worth? Um, no. But is he a MUST-BUY? Yes. Especially if you get Leader Prime. Leader Megatron has to balance it out.
Yes, because as toy-buyers, you must all become historians to Transformers figures, no matter how bad, for the sole purpose of maintaining historical accuracy for future generations... ...should a nuclear war occur, missing only YOUR town.
OR, you could just ditch buying the ugly bastard (supporting bad work) until they get their crap together and repaint him right.
It'll happen.

If Megatron looked like that, I'd have NO problem dropping $40 for him. As is, I'll wait until Protoclown gets marked down, at some point.
I actually really like movie Megatron's look. I wish Hasbro made 'em look decent.
Oh, and that same customizer's work on the Wave 2 'Bee? Just amazing. I'm gonna have to try that, myself.

I actually think the voyager version of Megatron looks better, at least in pictures. We'll see eventually, I guess...

It sucks for me, because I want one toy of every character, and only the Leader Megatron is in scale with the rest, not to mentiong that Voyager one is maybe one of the ugliest Transformer figures I've ever seen... he's horrid.
Of course, the Leader one ain't too sh*t-hot either...
Yay! Pay 70$ Canadian (even though our dollar is almost 1:1 with the US buck) for a figure with barely any paint, who can't keep his head hidden in jet mode and can barely move in robot mode.
Yippee.

but can you play with that toy .. or will the paint come off on ya hands or the coat become riddled with visible finger prints

no from what I have read recently about that repaint is that it doesn't come off but might have some minor scrapes with excessive transformations, but the most part its on there pretty good, clear coats do wonders
