...Maybe cause they're a clothing store and toys are really only side note to swindle a few more dollars outta shopping parents with "spoiled" [as the other threads would call them] children in tow. Sears is the same way.

Yeah, I've been there a couple times this week and they're absolutely barren. Just found a Scorponok and a couple Wreckages here and there, not even in the proper area.

I saw wave 2 movie toys once or twice last month (including several 08 Bumblebees), and haven't seen anything good since.

I just spoke with my buddy (Kohl's Stocker) and he said there was a big label on the last shipment saying "TOWER" ... He said that meant they probably aren't going to get anymore in. That's too bad... especially when they have buy 1 get the other 1/2 off.

Yes they have. We found out real quick on the Star Wars collecting board. As soon as someone posted a spot to get a HTF figure, it would be picked clean in days. And everyone on the board would post things like :
"Hey, I went to Kohls the other day after you posted that they had the Red Clone Commander, and there was nothing there!"
But the local collectable shop (SCALPER STORE) would suddenly have 10 Red Clone Commanders for $25 each.

Yep, the cat's outta the bag and now Kohl's will get regularly checked and picked clean. I found a couple off the beaten path stores that carry TFs and I am absolutely afraid to even say where they are because I know then that I will have lost my only couple reliable sources that I have left to count on. Once the word is out, it is over. Scalpers have more ability and time to move in and take over then most of the rest of us do.

I went on Saturday and they were fully stocked with Brawl, Dreadwind, Swindle, and some others I can't remember, but they had 10 BARRICADES!!! I haven't seen Barricade since July, before I started collecting the movie figs. Now the temptation to open my Bumblebee vs. Barricade set has been squashed!

I got lucky at the same Kohl's twice.
On August 14th, I got Bumblebee (Concept Camaro), and then yesterday (Sunday, September 9th) I found the only Deluxe Class Arcee in existence in this neck of the woods.
Greenville, PA Wal-Mart...restocked with wave 1 Deluxes.
Hermitage, PA Wal-Mart...restocked with the Arcee/Bumblebee/FBJazz/Payload/Longarm wave.
Neither store has restocked since. (and that was close to a month ago, I'd say.)
I checked all over for days, and no one had Arcee or Dreadwing.
Fortunately my girlfriend found Dreadwing for me at her job (Target) and said we could make a run back to Kohl's to see if they had Arcee.
The first one had absolutely no Deluxes in stock, save for six (yes SIX!) Scorponoks, and one Bonecrusher. (Niles, OH.)
The second one (where I had found Bumblebee) had one, lone Arcee sitting there, right in plain sight. I couldn't believe it and almost fainted. (two Bonecrushers, three Wreckages, four Scorponoks, and one Swindle remains there.) (Boardman, OH.)
I kept telling myself "Oh just the film's cast. None of the other figures seem to be impressive." Then I bought Swindle and really liked him. Even with his imperfections.
Then it was Wreckage (who pwns btw).
Then it was Payload, then Dropkick and Longarm, then it was Dreadwing, and now Arcee. I kept telling myself "They look terrible. I will never own Arcee or Dreadwing in my collection. No way, no how." (P.S. Never say never. You always end up doing just that.)
So...now I'm got an up to date line up of the figures so far. (I don't collect exclusives such as G1 Jazz and Starscream, the Thundercracker and Rescue Ratchet repaints, or the Voyagers of Prime and Megs. I collect one of each mold, and leave it at that. I own none of the Real Gears either. I'll wait and see if they continue to be popular.)
I was kicking myself for not buying Dreadwing or Arcee when they came out. It was nothing short of a miracle that my girlfriend and I found both.

You're really missing out on the Real Gears. If anything, just buy Meantime. The other Real Gears are decent, but really, Meantime is hands down, far and away the best Real Gear and one of the best TFs of the whole movie line.

It's funny you should mention him, and that I mentioned remorse for missing out on Arcee the first time 'round.
I had three chances to get Meantime and I just couldn't force myself to spend the $8.00 for him. Now he's sold out and I haven't seen one since. Methinks I shall be kicking myself soon.
Hopefully Meantime and the Gorilla/controller guy (can't think of his name) will be back out during the Christmas season. With presents (I.E. cash and gift cards) I could easily buy him, the gorilla, and all of wave one in the 2-Packs and basically go home with the entire line of Real Gears. (Not interested in the repaints. =\ At all.)
