Again, to be fair we already know he's going to get out, so that last shot was meant to leave us a question of "will he break his own moral code" in that case it works perfectly as a cliffhanger.

Funny how the last time the Tardis blew up it destroyed the universe.
So no, Missy isn't dead, Clara isn't dead, the Tardis isn't destroyed, all three would have teleported away most likely due to that stupid vortex manipulator garbage.
As Zerowolf said, the cliffhanger was The Doctor once again facing down his moral code. What I really loved about it is how far the character has come since Genesis of the Daleks when it comes to Daleks and his moral code.
You could almost see The Valeyard in those eyes ...

Time before that in Turn Left it didn't. Maybe it was to do with how the Silence exploded the TARDIS? It was clearly an inside job as we heard their voice inside before detonation. Maybe an external strike doesn't blow up the universe?

You can't assume that anyone on Doctor Who's production ever recalls what they did even the previous year - how many threads have they left hanging now a Dozen ?

But I like coming up with ideas to plug plot holes. It's much more fun than just giving up and moaning about them.

Plot hole yeah those are fun to fill but huge flipping gaps and unresolved story points not so much.
I just have some concern that they really don't ever plan to fill them perhaps even "Any of them" ever !.

The TARDIS didn't blow up in Turn Left. Most likely in the last episode it was just a fake-out. It put out some pyrotechnics while cloaking to let the Daleks think they won.
Also, it's worth pointing out in regards to Clara and the Master, the previous times we've seen Daleks kill people, they don't disappear afterwords.

Given the very nature of the show is time travel, and The Doctor has no problem crossing time lines and generally getting involved to change things around (except for those nasty fixed point in time things) then why should the production crew keep track of things?
Classic series didn't make much effort to keep things "in canon", but I think most of us expected that to happen with the new series, and it does ... sometimes ... and then doesn't ... sometimes.

When they trigger the device hooked up to the tardis to send Donna back, there's all those explosions. It was meant to show the tardis exploding properly but they didn't have the budget so had to infer it with what they could. Russel t Davies said it in that episode's edition of confidential.

That may have been the intent but I think they just gone with what was shown and decided that for all intents and purposes, blowing up the tardis generally will cause a kind of cataclysm.

We know it's all gonna be sorted by the next episode, or else there wouldn't be much of a show. I would like to state that this has probably been my favourite series opener in a number of years. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop, though... somehow, Moffat's gonna Moffat all over it, and everything I've enjoyed so far is going to be pointless... I just know it...

I still think he's a better writer then Davies, bit I also think he should work alongside someone else to keep him on track.

Re: The Dr Who (and spin-offs) Thread *potential spoilers*
I thought the episode was a tiny bit approaching 'terrible' the only good bits for me was the concept of the snake Colony guy (whom I guessed what he was right away) and adult Davros.
Everything else pretty much sucked. Hopefully next week will even it out a bit but I think so far so 'cheap and lazy'. I've seen worse obviously as Doctor Who can be intermittently appalling this was OK but not up to middle ranking level - better than some complete cluster***s mind there has been way to many of them to list.
I just wish that Watching Doctor Who didn't make you think you were Watching Star Trek Voyager if made by the BBC though quite so often as it does. but then that is the way I see Doctor Who every episode usually has at least one good visual image, line of dialogue or idea - and sometimes if you are lucky that can coast the episode to completion - but if you are unlucky you are all to soon reminded you are watching "A kids show". But I suppose that is better than Arrow making you think you are watching an adaptation of a YA novel series.

I may have been in a bad mood when I posted earlier and was a little tetchy - so I will say something positive. I liked the actor who got grabbed by the Hand Mines and would have liked to see more of him.

I think it's a tone thing, you should perhaps read my posts as someone stroking their chin and saying Hmmmmm
Rather than someone screaming at the TV like an irate Anime Character.
There isn't much I really object to other than certain kinds of TV & Film violence or the over use of Rape as a story point in fantasy settings.
For example I don't even take much offence to the live Action Transformers Movies. If I sound angry it may be unintentional or that I'm having a bad day is all.
Oh and to say something positive : here is something else - I like that the Doctor is seen Drinking from the same cup that turned 8 into The War Doctor... that is something so very easily missed... since lots of people won't have been paying that close of attention or seen the full version of the 8 becomes WDoc scenes.
Here is someone else's reaction to the episode :

He was on Karn with Missy. I doubt the Sisterhood have much in the way of cutlery.

I think it's something that has no significance other than "hey grab us some cup props for this scene" Rar, so no need to be so serious

Yes it could be which cup do we have in storage.
Or it could be a deliberate call back to the point he 'Died' before or the time he had a hard choice to make before.
I'm being polite and giving them the credit for the latter until I hear otherwise.

Right and that's the witch's familiar down. Not the conclusion I was hoping for really but was still enjoyable. I've got a new idea about maisy character from something missy said. Speaking of her, she was my favourite thing about this episode, her interactions with Clara were wonderful.
