damn, I dont mean to sound cheap but DANG they ARE pricey,
I'd rather get a Unicron, Fort Max, Scorponok,
or a knife!

The sad thing is, they're going to sell at that price.

Sometimes, just checking one more store isn't worth it

Too expensive. Who would pay that for a reissue when you can get a good vintage one for less, or a superior resculpt in the case of Soundwave and Starscream?

Too bad they won't be IN the stores.
Although I wouldn't pay their outrageous prices I would like to see them in the store.

They didn't sell till clearance(at which point I snatched them right up). It's sad when Ebays the cheapest.

Hold on a minute... they are going to release encore megatron as a realistic looking gun? what about US toy safety laws? if they were gonna officially sell them then they would probably have the orange cap as more of a permenant fixture right?
I can understand them selling Prime, Soundwave and Starscream, but gun megatron? even the classic nerf megatron had to have an orange cap and that didn't even look like a realistic gun.

I can still get the TRU Classics Soundwave for $38 if I wanted another one. Pfft!
It's cool that they are available at retail, though. Gives everyone a fair shot.

Where I'm from at least (Pennsylvania), it's at least a step up from the pathetic line up they have in stock now.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
For that Soundwave price, I got a complete original with 3 complete cassettes, plus complete Quake...7 years ago. :p
Barring that, I can still get 2 reissue Soundwaves at my local TRU. As a previous poster has already stated.
TRU Reissue Starscream was $35, and Optimus was $90CDN IIRC, unless this variety comes with cool bonus stuff, then as everyone else says, it's over-priced.

Looks like Toy R Us will be selling Takara Encores online. The prices are about a $100 a piece except Starscream is $59.99
Expensive! I was at Anime Jungle last week in Little Tokyo in LA and picked up Encore SS for $40. Soundwave was $50 and I think Optimus was about $70. SS was a little more than BBTS, shipping from BBTS would've evened it up I guess.
Are there any other places in LA that sell Imported or original (ie used) TFs? Any of the comic stores have a toy slant?
Thanks for the info on Anime Jungle. I would like to check it out sometime soon. Toy Mandala in Sherman Oaks was selling Prime and Megatron Encore for $119 each. Soundwave was around a $100. I went to Mini Melt in Eagle Rock and they were selling the Megatron for $149. I am interested in the Encore series and purchased the first four for $187 on eBay. The only problem is that the lady is taking forever to send it. She keeps giving me the run around how the item is in customs and will be arriving soon. I would be fine with that if she didn’t tell me the exact same thing two weeks ago. Thanks for the info and sorry for the complainig.

I bought that whole set for less than $200 US including S/H sans orange Megs plug. What a rip off!

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!
