Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
I think I'm going to die in my upcoming vacation.
Transformers Siege is... it's too much.
It's too perfect, we get a G1 Optimus with G1 transformation, we get a pure G1 Megatron, we get a Pure G1 Starscream Cybertron jetmode, earth robot mode. We get a Pure Soundwave, pure Shockwave (Cyber Batallion was great enough), we get Flywheels, we get bloody Reflector...
I cannot take this, I was born in 86 (year of Devastator) so G1 from the start.
This is............ and I even really like the new Cyberverse... and Bumblebee the movie looks so freaking what a Transformers movie is suppose to be.
Fffffffffffffff. and just got back into Masters of the Universe Classics and Masters of the Universe 200X......
I need to win the lottery and have additional years on my life and, not have to work and have 12 days a week...

Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
Offtopic and tiny old-man rant.
New fans (like under 20) don't know!
You don't know the days we had Car Robots with Megatron not looking like anything. G2 with a wacky Megatron tank mode. Car Robots Optimus with his fake chest, Prowl not looking like Prowl whatsoever. Transformers Armada, Megatron looking like generic tank dude, Optimus without his chest and crap articulation. Armada Red Alert being, I don't know what. Ultra Magnus being red and having no personality. Thundercracker being Starscream reformatted (It was a great Starscream for the time). Energon... Energon Shockwave anybody? Fattimus Prime anybody? No Soundwave. Then Transformers Animated, completely different style. Classics 1.0 with the Gundam Optimus, Weird Megatron, no Soundwave, no Shockwave. Okay Seekers.
Since Combiner Wars it's been going up in quality and G1 designs soo much.
Anyway, I'm happy for all of this. House is too small.

As a fan who turned 20 about a week ago, I can confidently say I do know. I remember aaaaaalll of those things. I grew up with them, except G2.
Of course, I'm still incredibly excited for this new line, same as everyone; even as a kid who grew up with the Unicron Trilogy, I somehow managed to also grow up with G1 through a combination of the home releases of Season 1 and the Movie and looking at the toys online. I'm just saying, don't assume we "don't know".
G2/Action Master/obscure variant-inspired redecos and retools are my lifeblood

Huh. They seem to be taking more liberties with these than they did with the figures in previous reveals (other than possibly Cog). I like that they're getting creative-ish with some of them.
I'd like to see Shockwave's non-combined vehicle mode before I judge him, but I love that they gave him a Brute Mode. Never thought I'd see them do that again post-Energon
Soundwave is a similar case to Shockwave; my opinion of him will be heavily influenced by how much his lamp mode amuses me. Laserbeak and Ravage are competently-done but a bit generic, though I could say that about a lot of retro-G1 stuff.
Megatron looks like he's based on his evergreen/Cyberverse design, which isn't really surprising as that was a pretty generic G1-style Megatron to begin with.
I look at Refraktor and I see a lot of Botcon 2016 Reflectors winding up on ebay in the next year or so. Shame his non-combined alt-mode is such a throwaway, but I can understand them not wanting it to interfere with the figure's true purpose.
Airstrike team is a nice homage to the Mini-Con weapon combiners. If the other Micromaster teams also do extra stuff, they could actually be pretty neat.
Kinda disappointed that Skytread didn't get separate robot modes like they gave Battletrap. It would have added a bit more "new" to the figure and possibly increased its play value.
Tetrajets are kinda meh for me, we already got "close enough" versions in Cybertron and Titanium (in three different sizes for the former, and one of the actually decent molds from the latter).
Brunt reminds me of a Vehicon (The Beast Machines kind, not the Prime kind), but in a good way. Vehicle mode looks to be pretty much an upsized version of the G1 toy, but since the G1 toy was a pretty unique-looking tank I'm glad they did so rather than pulling a Universe Galvatron on it. Robot mode is a work of art, suitably brutish and very aesthetically distinct from the other Siege figures. That it splits into weapons/armor on top of this is almost too much. Pardon me for gushing, I'm just floored by this thing. My only complaint is that they picked an Autobot to wear him in stock pics, and that's really more a complaint about Red Alert than Brunt. If I only get one Siege figure, it'll be this guy.

Ahaa, sorry for that, you are a man of culture

It was more aimed toward people who I think never had Armada Optimus and are fan of G1. Maybe I'm a bit to sharp concerning his windshield needs to be his torso. And Starscream's cockpit needs to be on his chest in robot mode. And most of the OG's need to have a figure in the line (if they're going for a lot of G1 inspired stuff)
Great to hear you're excited!

I'm hoping Reprolabels will some up with a sticker to put over the yellow "visor" to give Laserbeak proper eyes, and maybe a little something to make his beak yellow as well. I'm hoping we get at lest a Rumble and Frenzy pack along with Buzzsaw and Ratbat, though it makes me wonder if they will cut into more traditional Micromaster teams for the Decepticons.
Its probably Laserbeak's design on War For Cybertron/Fall Of Cybertron
More likely, both this toy and that design are based on the same thing: Laserbeak's pre-Earth design from G1:
Loving it.

Still Playing Fall Of Cybertron, it's still a great sequel!

it look like hasbro are finally learning that Megatron has to look like megatron, soundwave has to look like soundewave etc..
no more wacking a classic name on a totally different looking character.

Man these are great, I can't wait to get four-armed super shockwave, screw g1 this is what I live for from transformers
Brunt is great, I seriously love the weaponizer sub-class, its the best, a great gimmick.
Love soundwaves minions - ravage looking especially nice - (Iwonder if they combine like the rest of the size class), need to see soundwave in hand to see the damage of the gimmick in him, looks a little box-chested. bet he can be turned into a boombox as an (official) fan mode
Starscream is looking a little cubist, and his jet mode is kind of a joke, megs looks a bit off, not sure if it's the face or all the blockiness, not quite sure; might get him once I see him in hand though
Disappointed by reflector, can't spend that kind of money on him, shame, cuz the camera mode looks really nice, maybe with a hts sale
similarly disappointed by flywheels not having individual bot modes, really have no interest in him now

I think I love the Decepticons more than the Autobots. That Megatron!
That Soundwave!!
That Starscream!
That Shockwave!!!
I loved them all! Siege looks VERY promising at this point. Nothing has disappointed me yet. I just have to wait for in hand images and that's it. I will probably only get Megatron, Soundwave and his cassettes, and Shockwave though. My spending budget is VERY limited.
Love what you're doing

I'm eager to find out if Brunts weaponizer mode can weaponize another Brunt's robot mode.
So, a bit off topic, but... playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and got the hero's ship last night. I immediately got excited, because the ship is The Adrestia.
For those not up on their Greek mythology, the Greek Goddess Adrestia has two other names: Rhamnousia and NEMESIS.
So the player's warship in AC Odyssey is The Nemesis. I'm painting it purple as soon as I get the option.

It just uses 5mm peg holes, so yes, you can use brunt to weaponize brunt

To the GEEWUN fanboy in this thread: I'm in the opposite team. Part of me miss the sheer creativity and attempt at doing something new and unique with some of these characters. Now that '80 nostalgia and fandom pandering is in full-swing all we will ever see are the same gray tank Megatrons over and over again. While I understand characters need to be somewhat recognizable I wish we'd see a bit more variety in at least alt modes once in a while.

As someone who grew up with the 86 movie, G1 season 2/3, RID, and Armada, and then got into the fandom when the 07 movie came out, I missed all of universe and classics. Seeing all these G1 characters get brand new toys is great, and I have a lot of spaces in my collection being filled. I, however, also really wish for an Armada reboot. I loved the designs and characters, as terrible as the animation errors and writing was. (I was a kid, I didn't know better!

Finding my old beat up super optimus prime, megatron, and other beloved Armada toys, the cancelled TR set, and the teases of the CW megatron and Generations Starscream doesn't make waiting for Armada Redux easy.

It just uses 5mm peg holes, so yes, you can use brunt to weaponize brunt
I hope someone gets many and goes for the maximum ridiculousness level of layers of Brunt parts on a Brunt. Or Cog parts on a Cog.
Don't get butthurt when you get called out for expressing closed/small/narrow minded opinions. Educate yourself and form a better opinion.

Boy did I choose the wrong time to go away for a family holiday...
Okay, loving some of the reveals here and the Decepticon air patrol and their combined form, looks a lot better than the Autobot race patrol combined
Not keen on the G1ness but I think I covered all that last time with the reveals. Shockwave though...well its different. I'll give you that.
Reflector, I see shots of the robot mode but the shutter part in the middle, is that removable? I see pictures of the robot mode without them...
Skytread, why haven't we seen pictures of the vehicles individual robot modes? Is it because its being sold as a deluxe?
Lastly, with regards to the earlier conversation about omega supreme being destroyed in the new posters, who's to say it was Megatron who blew him up? It might have been buzz saw? Or he may have blown him self up, like in the keys to vector sigma episode...
