Well I finally got Movie Voyager Ironhide, and...
And I'm having some trouble transforming him.
If anyone can help me with the issues I am having, I would appreciate it. They are:
1)Is his head supposed to be so far back?
2) How do I keep his head from constantly falling down? Is there some way to "click" it in place, like Deluxe Jazz's head?
3) How does the waist "click" onto his upper body? I always seem to have a little space on the back of his waist that can't be corrected because his waist wont go up any further.

Try not to deem a figure as sucking unless you have transformed him correctly. You will probably find the fig to be a lot more enjoyable if you had transformed him properly.
Now i had trouble with mine, he is a bit complicated due to the ultra sucky instructions but i can say yes his head is meant to be that far back and no it isnt meant to fall down. See those two wheels and the little nubs on the end of each side of that section with the head on it? Those little nubs clip into the wheels to stop the head falling down.
His waist is tricky and too complicated for me to explain so i'll leave that up to someone else, but he is one of the best voyager toys of the current line.

The piece his head is on, connects on either side to the tires on his shoulders. That way it stays up.
The Waist, yes will have a larger space in the back than it will in the front.
Just get the 2 black pegs in to the blue piece with the holes, and plug the center peg, onto the bottom of his torso, where it spins around.
He is a very cool figure IMHO:

He is almost as complicated as the Binal techs were, but he is worth the effort imo.

Thanks! Man was I lucky. I walked into Wal-Mart an headed straight to the toys. When I got there, I saw about 10 Voyager Megatrons, 1 Blackout, and 1 Ironhide. Got the Ironhide of course

I'm sure the average 5 year old would love that.

Be careful when you transform Ironhide, he just might give you a cut.

While I don't have any Alts/BTs yet, I thought Ironhide's transformation was fun and worth it. I didn't use the instructions though.

Maybe Classics Grimlock? Looks kind of like the bayonet on his gun.

1.) Yes.
2.) When you flip up his wheel assemblies to create the arms, take notice of the center of his "hubcap". You'll notice there's a spot there that's open (I think a pin's in there, or a screw, holding the wheel on.) You'll also notice on Ironhide's head, there's two pegs, one on each side. Those pegs go into the holes on his hubcaps. It locks the whole thing into place. His shoulders and head won't flop around.
3.) Push the two black pegs into the blue waist connector piece. Push the single peg sticking out of the blue connector and push it into the hole underneath his chest/arms/head assembly (you'll the hole during transformation, you can't miss it.) It will snap into place, but it does sit at an angle, leaving a slight opening on his back. That's how the toy was designed. When standing correctly, it makes him look like a bull that's about to charge.
Hope this helps.
And to everyone else, yes. That is Classics Grimlock's weapon, minus the missile.

All of the instructions do. I recently bought DVD Edition Prime and took notice at how stripped they are, compared to 20th. Anniversary Prime's originals.
Then while I was sorting all of my A/E/C instructions, catalogs, etc (getting the necessary paperwork for a trade) I noticed the level of detail in the A/E/C trilogy, compared to current lines...and they sorely lack.
Classics and Movie instructions are really stripped and the artistry is just so subpar that you can't make heads or tails of the crap. Once I realized that people were right about Leader Class Megatron being easier to transform without the instructions...I knew we were in for a ride. A bad one, that is.
Cheap's one thing, but this is just pure laziness on their part. Sad.

That's awesome Sonray. How and what materials? Spray or Marker? Did you have to take him apart?
I'm eager to try it myself.
I just successfully kitbashed my alts sunstreaker, and kinda am jonesing for my next project. I already have my alts skids apart, but it's going to require more planning before I actually start. Turning him into Ratchet ... I hope.
No need to go into details unless you want to.
I'm particularly interested in the silver and gold metallic on his robot body parts.
I found your kitbash thread the other day, so i'll go and actually read the text to see if I can answer some of my own questions.

yeah, i totally agree with you on the lack of instructions. heck, Beast Wars managed to cram high-quality instructions WITH text into the backs of their cards, all that with the robot stats and bios, plus gallery of figures!
but Classics and Movie really sucked in that even with a separate instruction sheet they could not even make the instructions easy to follow.

Voyager IronHide is so cool.
If you think the Alt to Robot transformation was interesting, just wait till you turn him back into a truck again.
Alt to bot, not to hard.
Bot to Alt, headache the first time! You'll play the, "how's his waist go?" game.
