My favourite band is and always will be Motorhead. In my little world, they're the best band ever.
Obviously, this tells you I like rock and metal music the most.

Weird Al is the best. Gansta's Paradise still cracks me up.
Celine Dion...ah, I have to admit it!! Yes, I like Celine Dion! *cries*
Basically, I like songs that are easy to listen to. I don't mean Easy Listening, but country songs that have a nice melody and are fun to sing along with. Metal just ends up pissing me off. My husband sometimes listens to Drop Kick Murphys and I just have to leave the room.

yeah, amish paradise. Listed the wrong one. So what is Dropkick Murphys then? Punk rock? I don't care what it is, it offends my sensibilities because it's just noise to me.

They are Celtic Punk, or just Punk really.
and if you think they are "noise" then actual metal and you would not get a long at all

Then again, to me country and pop is nothing but noise

DKM's Boston Celtic Punk. I specify Boston 'cause they aren't like Floggin Molly, or other's of their ilk. Boston, makes them harder like Anti-flag are harder than punk 'cause their from Pittsburg.
Actually, I guess that makes it street punk, but I'm not sure if that's a real classification.
Just to list some of my fav's
Black Metal: Cradle of Filth, King Diamond, Venom
Heavy Metal(old): Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax (P.O.T. Rox)
Metal(new): Soulfly, Trivium, LoG, Gojira
Industrial: Fear Factory, Godflesh, Jesu
Rock: AC/DC, Def Leopard
Blues: Taj Mahal, SRV(may cross over to rock), Blues Bros
R&B: Etta James, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald
Rap: Outkast, Cypress Hill, HoP
Country: LeAnne Rimes, Charlie Daniel's band
Punk: Anti-flag, Anything on Fat Wrek Chords or Epitaph
Ska/Reggae: Bob Marley, Ziggy M, The Wailers, Gregory Issacs
Ska/Punk: MM Bosstones, Vodoo Glow Skulls, The Decipitones
Ska/Two Tone: The Specials, Magadog
Nu Metal: Spineshank, Lincoln Park
Best Labels:
Metal: Relapse, RR, Metalblade
Goth/Darkwave: Cleopatra
Punk: FWC, Epitaph, A-F, The Red Archives
I really could go on for a very long time.
Currently, I am incorporating all of my CD's into iTunes. I am at 19.64 GB, 13.5 days, and the last incorporated was all of Fear Factory's albums. I forget who's next in alphabetical order, but there's plenty more.

If you like Fear Factory then check out Threat Signal.
They are like a mix between FF and Meshuggah

I went to their website and listened to two songs: http://www.threatsignal.com/public/audio.aspx
Except for vocals they sound just like Trivium. There are no samples or syths, so I don't think they sound anything like FF.
I like the sound, but they don't sound unique. Maybe some of their other stuff does, I will have to see if I can find any other songs by them.

Go there and listen to "Rational Eyes"
The drumming sounds A LOT like the style of drumming FF uses and when Jon clean sings it sounds like the random clean vocals Burton uses in FF.
Like I said, they sound like FF meets Meshuggah(have you heard them?)

The vocal shouts sound very similar to something off of Obsolete(Man, is Ob So Lete). However, everything else sounds like a mix between Killswitch Engage and Trivium to me.
The riffs remind of a couple of tracks off of Triviums Accendancy album. The vocals really sound like KSE 2nd singer.
I'm never heard Meshuggah.

I don't want to seem like I'm blasting someone's tastes, but I never got the appeal for her. I mean, she doesn't have anything to talk about aside from love. Doesn't she have political opinions, something to say about globalization... heck, I'll take a song about the weather over another love ballad.
But that's just me.

Trivium and KSE are more clean sounding and KSE in particular have a higher pitch playing style I think is the phrase I'm looking for.
A different tuning style and all around different style.
I don't see a link between the sound of Howard(KSE) and Jon(Threat Signal)
Anyway, have you heard of Hurt?

I've heard of Hurt Machine, but not a band called Hurt. Are they local or national?
Lately, I've been on a Gojira kick.
