Alternators Ravage, opinions please?
Right! I just got a job at Argos, and on my second day in the stockroom found a huge pile of Alternator Ravage's (the four legged one, not the upright one). His alt mode looks quite nice & I'm contemplating taking my first paycheck & getting one. Views on the figure? Any problems?
I don't currently own any Alternators so I don't know the quality of the figures, but the alt mode look very nice, however I'm not completely sold on the robot mode, I haven't seen it in person so I haven't really had any chance to pass judgment. It looks alright, I think it could fit in with my Movie display as it has that kind of feel to it, don't know why.
The other figures I'm currently thinking of getting:
Rescue Ratchet
NightWatch Prime
Would you say either of these two are head&shoulders above Ravage?

Since Ravage is no longer made, I'd get him first.
He's very cool IMHO, a unique robot and fantastic alt mode. His biggest drawback in robot mode is the lack of ball joints at his 4 shoulders, so his legs can only swing back and forth instead of more realistically being able to swing outwards as well. But he has good poseability regardless, and can make some very cool poses, including a nice sitting pose and some cool crouches. His alt mode has no opening hood, and his rear hatch does open but it's hard to do and not quite accurate. Again, I think he's great and def. worthwhile.
Do you have the other Leader Prime and Ratchet yet? Since the 2 new ones are just repaints, there's nothing new there. Based on my regular Prime and Ratchet, they are also 2 very good figs, Prime's alt mode in particular is excellent. But def. grab Ravage first, I would say. HTH, good luck.

Yup, great figure. I absolutely love his car mode, and I think his jaguar mode is pretty damn good for something that unfolds from a replica car. They even got his missile launchers right.
I can't imagine you'd be disappointed with him.

I have neither the original move Prime or Ratchet.
Cool, thanks for your opinion. I was oblivious to the fact that he isn't made any more

Make sure you do!!!
I was sceptical about Ravage XK when I saw the inital pics and despite not being all that he could be I ended up really liking him. I guess I like the ideal of a big cat turning into another big cat.

There's an update of the "Who's on fourth?" sketch in there.
Megatron: So, new body Ravage. Looks good. What's your alt mode?
Ravage: A Jaguar.
Megatron: I can see you're a jaguar, what do you turn into?
Ravage: A Jaguar.
Megatron: ... ok, let's say that you're in your alt mode of a jaguar, what would you become if you transformed?
Ravage: A jaguar.
Megatron: BWAAA!
*At this point, Megatron is driven insane. It's a short trip*

I absolutely love him! One of my favorite alternators... there are some good things about this figure and some bad as well...
Good:
kickass car and robot mode... just loving it...
poseable
well detailed robot/alt mode
heat seeker missles!
no steering ability (good for the trsnformation bad for detail)
bad things:
hood/ trunk don't open
no steering
sometimes it doesn't feel sturdy like when you are pulling out the front sides out from the hood
that's it!
9/10!

At which point a Tardis transformer comes along & completely screws Megatrons mind.

If Transformers was a UK thing, Vector Prime would have been a TARDIS. And his minicon would have been K9.

Bumblebee would be Michale Cane's Mini, Omega Supreme would be Red Dwarf, Astrotrain would be the Hogwarts express and Clifjumper would have been Austin Power's Shaguar!

XK Ravage is definitely a good figure, but I'd also like to mention that the back end of his robot mode looks distinctly uncatlike. Only a minor quibble on what is otherwise a great figure though.
As for Rescue Ractche and Prime...I really don't see that the movie toys can out-awesome ANY of the previous lines, so definitely nab Ravage first.

Yep, he's a cool toy, I'd recommend getting him if you like Ravage. He's not the best alt, but far from the worst. The only problem is I wish some of the parts locked down better in robot mode, other than that he's great!

I can't find it, but somewhere on the net is a picture of a guy who made a Transforming TARDIS costume.

Alt. Ravage is a great figure. The poseablity is a little wanting, but is is a great G1 homage on bot mode.

Haha! Loving the picture!
I put off getting him today as I found myself in Woolworths with £20 & A Rescue Ratchet staring me in the face. I'll get my pay check before I'm next at work anyway so I'll get it when I'm next in.
