I just hope that I get off early enough to hit up a Wal-Mart tomorrow and nab one of the Downshift vs. Cannonball two-packs.

That's all I want... I didn't get back into collecting (Stupid, unsupportive ex-fiancee) again until the end months of Classics and never got a shot at the Cybertron figures, which of what I have so far, rock.

Just looked in the Khols add Deluxes are 33% 0ff. Funny how it says 50% off entire selection of toys on the front

I'm leaving for Walmart in a few minutes, that's 3 a.m. EST.

There was a line of at least 50 people outside the Circuit City and Best Buy in Wilmington DE last night (Thanksgiving Day) at 9 p.m.

I'll post later to see what I got.

I must not have any luck when it comes to Galax Force Prime. TRU here never even got any in. I've never seen one at Family Dollar either.

5:19am, just got back from Walmart. I managed to get both sets of two packs but I thought I was gonna have to right hook someones mom for trying to push me over! Bottom line is I got what I went out for (a quick side note; they had 12 Masterpiece Starscreams) but here's my plea, people.

Reguardless of what you believe in, we're all people! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (That's 5 Please's) Be good to each other! Ya don't have to like each other (I'm a G1 Guy livin' in a Beast Wars world!) but seeing people freaking out at walmart this morning, knocking each other over to save a few bucks just further makes me realise we're kinda messed up as a race!

Anyway, mini-rant's over, I hope everyone makes it out unscathed!!

Well, TRU can suck it. I went to two of them starting at 5am, came out empty handed on the cybertron prime. Each of them had only gotten 12 to 15 of them and they were gone in minutes. Same story at wally with the 2-packs. Gone by 5:30 am. Thankfully my pal John saved my butt again by being up in chi-town visiting relatives and got to a wally early enough to snag me each of the 2-packs.

Bottom line,in any metro area, if you havent picked either of these up yet you probably wont at all.

God, I feel like a retail prostitute that ddn't get paid.

Well,

I left at 3, got into walmart at 330, and left at 503 with a brand new 42" LCD, but no MP SS :-x

Oh well, the TV is nice!

Up at 4:30... Agreed, TRU can suck it! The lines were up the ying yang, two of them wrapped around the entire store. Soccer moms everywhere. I did manage to score the bonus 2-packs from walmart but that was it. Overall a bit of a disappointment. Glad to be home.

My haul

Postby Agent 007 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 11:44 am

Well nothing tf related, but i got some cheap stuff. I only had time to go to Target and Best Buy. Went to Target first, was very disapointing, barley anything on sale either. But I snagged a $20 norm $45 1/10th RC Ferrari F430 sweet deal! :) At best buy snagged Southpark seasons 8 and 10 for $14.99! another great deal, and got a Cartman xmas orniment free. Also snagged Devil may Cry 3 on clearence for my bro's xmas present. All in all not a bad trip glad i went. Wish I could find an MP SS!

If you're going for TF's, good luck. The two packs are loooong gone, even online, and the rest of the TF section is bound to look as raped as the two I went to did.

The other problem with the TRU sale was this: long after the cyber-primes were gone, there were dozens of parents staring at the sale ad while clutching things like leader class movie figs and trying to figure out if that was the "transformer in the ad". I get the feeling that since it said "transformers" and was only $20, it got scooped up just as fast as if it was a movie toy. Hell, I even saw a few dumb hausfraus walking off with the voice changer helmet thinking they got the sale ad toy simply because it said "optimus prime" on it. I'm not assuming that either, I actually listened to a conversation.... " oooo, cI can't beleive they still have any!!! That helmet being the biggest shelfwarmer of the year, I'm pretty damn sure she tought she was buying cybertron prime.

I guess most kids and parents don't know the difference. By sheer name branding alone, hasbro managed to sell out of an item that they'd had to ship off to family dollar for the "discount rounds". Americans are hilarious... myself included.

They're both cheap and cool at the same time.

$20 for one of the best Primes made? Yes please

Cannonball and Downshift? Two cool looking car bots, that weren't that easy to come by, in a two pack on the cheap? You just know people are gonna be snatching those up by the handfuls.

I got up after 9 and drove to the Walmart near me. I had a $20 gift card with me and planned to buy some TFs. There's no Universe 2-packs in this Walmart so I spent the $20 on a 30-pack instead.

On a side note, Family Dollar has the new repacked $5 Cybertron Scouts - I saw backstop, lugnutz, and some other new ones.

My question is, why the heck then do employees bring BF items out and why does it seem that not all store employees are on the same page?

Because WalMart does not actually pay them enough to care, or take pride in, their job.
ok being i've worked for walmart for 2+ years now and just became a department manager this is what happens...
1. the deparment gets a list of what items as black friday items.....
2. they come on a trailer litterally completely filled with crap....
3.the unloaders just see that it's a "toys" item and stack it on the pallet for toys...
4. when the pallet cant fit anymore stuff on it it is wrapped and brrought to the deparment it goes to
5. in the morning the associetes start working the pallet and if the BF stuff is on it then they leave it on the pallet and after they are done they bring it to the back and then it's put on a seperate pallet for black friday...

i hate people liek you guys that think just cause you shop there you know EVERYTHING about what we do when we work there.... heck you think just cause the employee is walking through thte department and say "sorry i dont work in this department" you get all snotty... you know if we are hired to work in electronics they dont train us to work in the toy department..... so next time you think you know what you are talking about just keep it to yourself.... * :-x end rant :-x *

The unloaders are supposed to take ANYTHING that says blitz on the item and put it on a seperate pallet. No Blitz goes out on the floor.

Yeah, and all at double or more than what they paid. Though I'd say scalping scumbags are just the type to get up and stand in line at wally all night just to get a chance to shove some people around. This is one of those times I really wish I had a fake ebay account.

Is anybody else really puzzled why anybody would go through the typical Black Friday fiasco to land these Cybertron 2 packs? If you're a parent looking for gifts, then I can understand the cluelessness, though why you decide to pick Black Friday to shop is beyond me, espcially since I doubt any child out there is clamoring for Cybertron Downshift or Galaxy Force Prime.

If you're a Transformers collector, though, is saving a few bucks on these figures really worth the trouble of getting up and fighting for what comes out to be about $15-20 in savings? If you really want some of these Cybertron figures and you don't mind paying $5 or $6 more than original retail price, none of them are all that hard to find.

Now if it was Masterpiece Starscream we were talking about.....that's different, but these 2 packs? $10 for both is a good deal, granted, but come on, are they really worth it?

I live in a small town in southwest GA.Going to wally on black friday probably isnt like going to wally in some metro city.It really wasnt a big deal to get them for me.But yes i can understand if you are in a larger city it might not be worth it
