I see someone found pics to back up my Tranzor Z statements.
As for as Transformers tentacles go, remember how Optimus helped Alita-1 in that one episode, I think Alpha Trion might have been present as well.

Can't wait to see what this line will look like. My money is on the fact that it will blow Hasbro away!

All this talk of Classi- rather, Henkai! Henkai! Megatron, when the real awesome part of this line is that it'll finally be my chance to pick up Clas- Henkai! Henkai! Starscream! I've been wanting Classi- Henkai! Henkai! Starscream for a while, but since the Classics version way overpriced on eBay because of Hasbro's usual sh*tty distribution, I haven't been able to.
He's been preordered since his announcement - BBTS says he'll be arriving in March. While 24 bucks for a Deluxe may be a bit steep - it's better than 30-40 bucks on eBay, especially considering this version will have better paint.

I'm sure this has been said already, but I'm really stoked about the new colors on Megs. Hopefully, Takara will completely outdo Hasbro's awful color scheme and come up with something even more outlandish!
I'm thinking some magenta will do nicely.

I find it rather funny how english-speaking people tend to be so hellbent on making sure anything done in Japanese is either done 100% accurate or not done at all with full & proper respect to the Japanese language & culture, where as the Japanese people as a whole make it a point to sodomize the English language by forcing it to fit in a form that uses too few syllables to properly portray it.Professor Smooth wrote:bionic_radical wrote:hahahah! they said "grimrock"!!

Now to keep say something in contex to the topic....Wow, what a redundant name. Not even Optimal Optimus is as bad as that.

Have you studied Japanese? Do you know why the pronunciation of foreign words is different here?
It works both ways, you know. Foreigners have the strangest pronunciations of Japanese words like Karaoke, sake, and Gojira. Chances are, you probably won't run into a Japanese person laughing at you for saying it wrong, though.
To keep on topic, Grimlock's name in Japan actually IS Grimrock. It uses the symbols "Gu," "Ri," "Mu," Ro," a glottal stop, and "Ku."

Actually yes I do know why the pronuciation is different. I pointed that out in my last post: they try to cram the english language into their own & spit out the closest approximation. Grimlock was a name created in the English-speaking world, & instead of treating it as a foreign word/language & using English pronuciation & the Western alphabet to correctly portray his name properly, they used...well....the closest approximation. Grimrock (or Gurimuroku, as you pointed out) is a great example of the Japanese language sodomizing English.Professor Smooth wrote:Nemesis Cyberplex wrote: I find it rather funny how english-speaking people tend to be so hellbent on making sure anything done in Japanese is either done 100% accurate or not done at all with full & proper respect to the Japanese language & culture, where as the Japanese people as a whole make it a point to sodomize the English language by forcing it to fit in a form that uses too few syllables to properly portray it.

Telling people to respect yours while not respecting theirs...that's called hypocriacy my friend.

I still don't think you understand. The sounds that make up Grimlock do not exist in the Japanese language. It would be impossible to say it the same way as Americans, Europeans, etc do. When an foreign word is imported into Japanese, its spelling and pronunciation are changed to better fit into the language.
In English, there is a tendancy to use the same pronunciation (and spelling) as other languages (French, Spanish, etc) do. This leads to having words spelled in ways that do not synch up with their pronunciation. English is now full of words that are straight out of other languages.
Second languages are very difficult. Especially when the languages are as different as English and Japanese. If the worst that happens is one letter being switched, then there's not much of a problem.
I do take issue with people ridiculing such minor errors, especially when, were the shoe on the other foot, they could not do any better. I would like to see one of the people who mocked the error translate that article into Japanese. If anyone can do so without making anything more than a spelling error, I will personally mail them a Takara '09 Deluxe Bumblebee.
