Confirm an e-hobby Trailbreaker

Can one of you confirm that there was an Ehobby trailbreaker?
and if there was can you confirm it is the one listed in this auction?

I have just started collecting G1 reissues, and the slope is pretty slippery, so any help is appreciated.

there is a Takara Reissue of Trailbreaker..but I am not sure if there is an E-hobby version. Boxes Takara G1 Reissues look almost identical to the E-hobby ones.

Either way, I just need the item in this auction confirmed as an Authentic Takara or Ehobby release.
I really want a trailbreaker to fill in my main G1 Autobots

I agree but collecting G1, reissue or not is a tricky thing.
I am 90% sure this is a legit reissue but you never know, always better to ask the experts.
Ideally, someone like Jelze Goldrabbit can confirm it before I bid.

He was reissued by Takara in 2001 in limited numbers, much like Ironhide, Ratchet, a couple of seekers, a gold Jazz and a couple of others.

is the auction I linked the reissue you mentioned, with the silver "collectors edition" corner graphic, I figured it for an ehobby
Either way, I just want confirmation of that link before I bid.

Most of what ehobby has done (G1 reissuewise) is repaints, often of charecters that never origanaly existed, so I'd wary. Mind as burn said, they have had some exclusive out n out reissues too. Your best bet would be to find a list of known e-hobby exclusives (im sure one existes somewhere, though I've no idea where).

I looked it up and the auction is the official release, so unless Jelze or one of the other guys tell me different, I will be bidding.

Yeah, they did a small number of characters in limited numbers. It may even have been for the 15th Anniversary.

Actually guys, it's not e-Hobby though the box may say otherwise. It was a C3 convention exclusive partnered with Hoist, and limited to 1,000 pieces each.
Here's the complete list of the Collector's Editions:
04 Lambor & 05 Alert: World Character Convention 12
99 Ratchet & 98 Ironhide: e-Hobby
23 Skywarp & 24 Thundercracker: Super Festival 21
D-56 Ramjet & D-57 Thrust: JAF-Con 10
97 Dirge: Wonder Festival 2001
25 Trailbreaker & 46 Hoist: C3
Fact remains it's official though

Takara released 13 G1 molds as part of an exclusive line of reissues. If I recall correctly, they were eHobby exclusives but they were only available at a convention and they were produced in very limited numbers, hence the extremely high prices that push some of these figures past the prices of an original. All of the molds could be used for multiple figures, which was smart on Takara's behalf. Let's see if I can remember all 13 of these ...
Ironhide
Ratchet
Grapple
Inferno
Trailerbreaker
Hoist
Thundercracker
Skywarp
Thrust
Dirge
Ramjet
Sideswipe
Red Alert
According to TFarchive.com, these 13 figures were available separately at individual conventions or shows. The information at the Archive is reliable. Those guys work hard on their site just like the Seibertron staff does so I'm sure that information is accurate. It seems to jog my memory.

I don't think it's a Takara release because the box usually has Japanese writing on it where it says Transformers. It does look like an e-hobby release box. I wish the picture was clearer. It coveniently doesn't show a good picture of the instructions which typically has Japanese writing on it in the e-hobby line.

It is Takara, since it's Japanese. Nothing else to it. Takara caters to e-Hobby and other retailers, it's like amazon.com (don't quote me on that).

Thanks to everyone who helped out, hopefully in a few days I will have a brand new, sealed Trailbreaker.
This thread is a tribute to how great seibertron is, I needed some help and help was given, all within a day or so.
Off topic, what are the reasons we wont ever see an Omega Supreme reissue? I have heard it said that we wont see one but why? Omega is a gorgeous mold, and would make a great giftset similiar to the Predaking one.

It's because it's a "borrowed" mold, that originated neither from Microman or Diaclone; it's not Hasbro/Takara property. The same goes for these babies:
Whirl
Roadbuster
Jetfire
Sky Lynx*
Venom
Ransack**
Chopshop
Barrage
Shockwave***
Mini-Spies
* It's being reissued, which means Takara got the rights to the mold, probabaly via Tomy
** Ransack was unreleased in the original line (Kiko Chutai Beetras)
*** Of all the "borrowed" molds, Shockwave is the only one to see a Japanese release, as 49 Laserwave

So there is a precedent of Takara acquiring mold rights that had expired in the past?
So there is a slim chance that some of these molds could see daylight again?
What about getting back the mold rights to the Dinobots, Mirage and Wheeljack? Possible?

It's more like mold right belonging to other companies, I'm afraid. Besides, the copyrights to the molds don't expire for like 60 years.

Those molds belong to Takara, no problem there. The problem is finding them, if they're not either destroyed, degraded or stolen.

I'd be pretty inclined to believe they fall under the stolen category. I remember at one point someone posting a link to a site that had some really nice looking Mirage parts that were going to be assembled as well as Devestator I believe.
Look at the KO market for examples of some pretty nice looking and convincing Dinobot KOs. Several people have reviewed those and say that if it weren't for the joints being kind of loose, they'd pretty much be perfect. I seem to recall that at one point KO Swoops were very abundent on ebay. Then someone got industrious and gave him the Diaclone paint app and started selling them as either "Diaclone" or a "Takara Reissue" with show accurate colors.
