Favorite Beast Machines figure? AND favorite Beast Wars basic figure
So I know alot of people don't like the best machines line and all... i somewhat don't like them either, so I don't have one at all. I was thinking of picking one up, but I can't find much reviews on them. What is your favorite figure from the line and why?
Also, I forgot to add... what's your favorite basic figure from beast wars? I know about terrosaur, rattrap and airrazor, those are really cool, but what about the figures not from the show. which one is your favorite?

Well the only one I own, is Deluxe Jetstorm , and he's pretty cool. He looks nothing like his animated counterpart. but still the plane mode is very nicely detailed with vets, pistons
pipes etc.. etched in.
Transformation is harder than you would think,and has the third Hover mode.
Also many people seem to like Tankor.

Even though it was released during Robots In Disguise... I like Air Attack Optimus Primal.
He has a great amount of Articulation, in both modes, features Gary Chalk (The voice of Primal in the show) on electronics, and has a paint scheme that is close, if not identical to the show.
And being the fan of Megatron that I am, I recommend the Mega sized Dragon form of Megatron. Even though his deco is a little more out there in terms of being show accurate. Gotta love that Dragon mode though.

bwtf.com has a lot of Beast Machines reviews.
Despite its problems, I actually like the Beast Machines line a lot.
Recommended:(not comprehensive)
Night Viper is my absolute favorite--the second original snake mold after Corhada
Skydive--interesting aesthetic; amazing poseability.
Night-Slash Cheetor--anime accurate sculpt, though not colors
Jetstorm--Overcracker covered him already.
Dinobots--these are all repaints of BW Neo molds(and BW Ultra Megatron), if missed them then and in Universe, these are grand replacements.
Magmatron--direct rerelease of the BWNeo version. Target exclusive; probably easier to find original.
Mirage--small, yet soild
Beast Changer(Savage/Noble)--awesome idea, interesting execution
Megabolt Megatron--turns into a giant head. 'Nuff said.
Decent:(not comprehensive)
Tankor--a little loose in the joints, but otherwise pretty solid; not at all anime accurate however
Thrust--same as Tankor. Looks best in Unicycle mode, but can't stand. Robot legs look stupid
Blastcharge--good alt mode, good robot mode. Low poseability and looks stupid with missiles in launcher(robot mode)
Battle Unicorn--Yes, a UNICORN. Interesing alt mode, clever transformation, awesome robot mode, and amusing bio. His body has difficulty staying together in robot mode(only if you articulate him in a certain way)
Blast Punch Optimus Primal--looks good in both modes; limited elbow articulation
Not Recommended:(not comprehensive)
Quickstrike--ugly alt mode, stupid transformation
Buzzsaw--awesome figure....bad plastic(i.e. VERY soft
Rattrap--so out of scale its not even funny
~~~~~~~~
My favorite BW basic who did not appear on the show?
Razorclaw, hands down.
I collect the initial characters from beast wars, i'm talking about the basic beast wars... you know the basic class, like air hammer and snapper.and starscream wasn't in the beast machines line.
all first wave basic beast wars figures are cool IMHO, with hte exception maybe of Snarl/Tasmania Kid.
i have the following basics: Iguanus, Rattrap, and Armordillo, and despite the last two being back heavy, they are actually quite articulate because of all the ball joints. Alt modes don't have that much articulation though, but for its time (1996), these were the bomb.
most of these basics are also quite pretty rare nowadays, and Rattrap's fetching quite a high price amongst collectors because his mold was (according to rumor) destroyed or lost. he averages between 20-80 USD on eBay, more for MOSC. i was fortunate enough to get my own Rattrap in a loose set of BW toys, so the cost was in there.
the later waves of basic-class toys are fine, but they do not have the collector value of the first wave. plus most of the later waves suffer from easily-chipped chrome, and a redeco of the 1st-wave Razorbeast (forgot the name) suffered from GPS.
You are talking about the Fuzors. A Sub Group. 2 animals in one.
Some weren't very good AFAIK. but I can't really say much about them.
I know someone that is selling the basics for 8 bucks, so I wanted to pick out the best ones, I wanted to get armordillo and snapper, still thinking though... thanks for the advice.
I also picked up rattrap! I got him for free, my friend sold a few figures to me and i asked if he had rattrap and he just gave em to me.... and he knows his stuff too haha, he has the entire neo series
cool! a free Rattrap. you should hold on to it, it's pretty rare and very valuable.
for Armordillo, he's actually very stable, but the bad thing is that he's got no hands, only claws and the guns are attached via holes to his arms. but he's still a good figure to won, i got mine without the guns/rear legs and i still like it.
I actually don't have Blackarachnia
. I could probably pick her up on eBay for fairly cheep, but I'm actually looking for the Beast Wars Returns version BR-04, because its more anime accurate. Also rarer and more expensive. By most accounts, she's pretty good though.
Hopefully, the Animated version next year will be good though.
Also, I forgot to add. Avoid the "Mega" sized Megatron figure from BM like the plague, unless someone pays you to take it off their hands. *shudders*
hmmm, i guess the bat Primal/alligator Megs would also be fine, but that's just me as i like collecting Beast Wars. personally the first wave of basics IMHO are all good molds, and all the more because of the collector value attached to them, plus you can find some pretty cheap.
heres a rundown of all the 1st gen basics:
Maximals:
rattrap
armordillo
razorbeast
bat primal
Predacons:
iguanus
alligator megatron
insecticon
snapper
terrorsaur
i myself am looking forward to complete this line of basics, as they're all fun and look good too.
I didn't know that. Kind of tiny for a deluxe. I guess then I don't have a favorite Beast Wars Basic, as I don't own any of the molds as I didn't like any of them.
