Family Guy had a 1 hour Star Wars special last night where they covered the entire episode 4. Chris was Luke, Peter was Han, Brian was Chewie, Meg was the trash compactor monster, Stewie was Vader etc. When they make the Death Star run near the end and all the X-wings and Y-wings check in: Red 5 (Luke) standing by, they went into tons of other people named "Red", like Red Fox, Big Red (gum), Red October and so on. It was very funny!!

As for the Union thing you asked about; I was part of the Carpentry Union for a few years, and meaning no disrespect to anyone, it was one of the worst working experiences I ever had. I got yelled at for working too fast with a high level of quality and pride, I believe PQP can back me up on this one. I almost got fired for not putting the "proud to be a union member" bumper sticker on my truck, and at least the crews I had been exposed to performed some of the worst quality work I have ever seen in carpentry.

That being said, I think Unions started with a great concept in mind, and I'm sure that it is probably only a select few that give the rest a bad name and that have completely perverted the concept. When it comes down to it, I believe you need to learn to respect the individuals and know that not everyone is like this.

I'm in the teacher's union and we are getting **** on because the union does such a good job of getting us retirement and health care benefits. God I have hated reading about how teachers get this and that, and how the teacher's union needs to be brought down.

Teachers are getting **** on left and right, our teachers are a vital part of our social and economic future, however we pay them **** and expect them to work 80 hours a week. Sure people will say “well teachers only work 8 months a year, they get summers and every holiday off.” Well with the money most teachers make many have to get a second job for the summer months. I was going to be a teacher myself, sadly I didn’t have the heart or the drive to work for that pay, and I applaud you for what you do!

Thanks, I'm not bitter I enjoy my job, I just don't like us being basically gilded and called worthless. Our pay is fine, yes, we get time off, until that changes.

In other news...the UAW could not reach a deal with GM...does this mean anything to anyone?

I do not and have not worked for a union, so I have a very one sided view of this. I would like to hear some of your guys comments on it.

Oh, had another experience with the Loss Prevention Dictatorship today. This time, an employee wat the Taylor WM followed me all the way out to my car, and took my plate number. (He couldn't have been more obvious.) So, I called and gave his name to the manager there.

The manager was a nice guy, but I told him if it happens again, that I would be filing a complaint(with the Bureau of Consumer Affairs) against the store.

This is why I am hating the retail environment so much anymore...retail people always seem to complain that it is the customers who are making them into jerks. The shoe is on the other foot here, you dipshit employees are forcing me to file complaints. And I won't stop until someone is held responsible, and I can walk into a store without feeling like I've raped someone.

I'm looking for an excuse, just give me one. I just hope that someone messes with me again soon, so I can file a lawsuit and be done with it.

It's kind of a long story, starting way back last March when I got banned form the Canton Meijer for refusing to show a police officer my ID(which is my right). While the cop was frustrated, I was clean and he let me go. Only thing was, after talking to the LP people there, they told him to tell me that "They don't want you back here anymore.", and proceeded to hand me a "Notice of Tresspass" from the city of Canton, which states that I'm not allowed in the store for a year.

So, I was angry about it, but I decided to let it go. I figure that if they don't want a single, high-income male shopping at their store, then it is their loss. But, since then, it is almost as if the LP people sent my face to every store in Southeast MI, because I can't seem to go anywhere without being harassed by employees and LP people.

This has been especially true at the DB and Allen Park Targets, as well as the Canton one. Just a few weeks ago I was leaving the DB Target and a plain-clothed security person deliberately stood in my path as I was leaving. I gave him the evilest of evil-eyes and kept walking right through where he was standing, basically daring him to put his hands on me or stop me, as he frantically jumped out of my way and pretended that it was nothing.

So, basically, I'm trying to find out whether the LP dept at the Canton Meijer has done this, because the minute that I trace it back to them, we're going to court, and it won't be pretty.

I do recognize the stores' right to protect themselves, but only if they respect my right to shop without being harassed. And it doesn't look like it is going to be anytime soon. I have tried to let go of what happened at the Canton Meijer, I tried to be the bigger person and let it go, just chalk it up to misunderstanding that resulted in a punch in the face. But everyday now I have people treating me like a criminal, and it is going to end whether they like it or not.

I've got all of these morons saying "Just don't shop there anymore." It is far more complicated than that. I won't be told where I can or can't shop. And I will take full advantage of any mistakes on either the police's side, or the retailer's side, or both.

I would say its a good chance that these other stores LP dept have gotten a picture of you if the they had one...I worked at a Sports Authority and they did this all the time with the target that was next to us....however we only sent photos of known shoplifters....

Thanks Sparty. That was the particular attitiude toward me, that I was shoplifting(even though no one had seen me...it amazes me that, in this surveillance-happy world, that they have no evidence at all). I'll see what I can do. LP people do make mistakes, and so do retail employees.

Well, I've verified that I am on a list of "Known Shoplifters". I have already contacted my lawyer, and he states that I have a case. The law requires that those banned from public places for alleged shoplifting, must first have had verifiable proof, in the form of video footage, that I had actually shoplifted, before adding my name and face to such a list.

I called the LP dept at the Canton Meijer, and am expecting a call back form their manager tonight. Bottom line is, what they've done is illegal, and I have every right to a civil suit against Meijer.

And I had just let this whole thing go...

Well, I just got a call from the LP Manager at Meijer, and he claims to have absolutely nothing to do with my name ending up on the list, and he even said that there was no such thing as a "Known Shoplifters" list, which I'm not sure that I believe, considering that you can google it, and every state seems to have one. My lawyer said that technically you only end up on that list if you have been arrested...

He said that if anyone made the call, it was Management, or the cop, but most likely, a combination of both. The cop was peeved because I declined showing him my identification, and management was peeved that there was a big police thing going on right in their parking lot.

But, believe it or not, we we able to talk about the incident last March, and I was able to explain to him why I reacted the way that I did. He even conceded that collectors get a bad rap, and are probably the most harassed customers overall. He even said that the ban was pretty much un-enforcable, since it was not cleared through their dept, and that the only ones to enforce it would be the police. I simply told him not to worry about it because I won't go in there anymore. He even agreed with me that if Meijer doesn't want my business, so be it.

He also didn't deny that LP depts often share and send information, and that my name was probably, at some stores, received in an "update" from the city on "potential" shoplifters. Basically, the fact that I got an actual banning from a cop means that my name is thrown in with all of the others, and it probably just ended up being processed as an actual ban for shoplifting, rather than a last-ditch effort of a frustrated cop and embarrassed management to put me "in my place".

Sigh. I hope that I don't sound like some lunatic. Anyway, so basically, my lawyer will contact the police dept and see if my name is actually on the list. If it is, we will take whatever steps to get it off. He does know for a fact that my name is on there illegally, if it was done intentionally. But, if it was a mistake, then we just correct it.

I'm not out for money or anything here. If my name is actually on an official list, I just want it off.

That was an awesome episode XD I saw a preview for that months ago on youtube. So glad they advertised it on MySpace, or I'd have missed it.

By the way, I went to the Grove Rd., Ypsilanti "Family Dollar" and they had Metroplex (he's still there) and a really nice Optimus Prime, which I grabbed instead Not bad for $20.

I saw the movie at the IMAX, and though the added scenes added NOTHING *grumblemutter* to the movie, it was just nice to see it on the big screen with the lovely sound. They cleaned the movie up nicely for it too, which I was surprised about. I didn't think it would survive the transition to IMAX.

Yeah, but once in a while, you meet a teacher that goes out of their way to make students lives miserable (usually in college) and you can't get rid of them thanks to the Union. I had a demon prof from heck back in Community College...but I won't go into that. All I'll say is, there are a few who take advantage of that. Fortunately, there are enough good teachers to outweigh the bad ones.

I just speak from what I've dealt with, nothing more.

Lot of crap's been going down while I was gone hasn't it? Sorry to hear about your problems PQP, what'd they think you shoplift and what gave them that thought? Thought I might as well see what I can avoid doing next time I'm in a store so I don't get in a situation like that. Good luck getting that sorted out. I still have no planned TF buys 'till MP SS. Tomorrow, I should not only be getting Bioshock from Gamefly, but I should be able to pick up my Halo 3 pre-order as well. Man, with both those games to play, Heroes starting tonight and the Office starting Thursday, this is going to be a very busy week.

Also, I'm finally getting my collection put up in a more formal fashion. It's looking good for only collecting for about 2 years. I hope I can get some pics posted by next weekend.

jimi, the BB I have on my desk here at work doesn't have that problem. unfortunately, looking at mine, I don't see where you could do any robo surgery to fix that. bummer, man. BB seems to be popping up a bit more lately though. pick up another and then display the misassembled one in alt mode everyone need two bumblebees!

Yeah, it's been shut down for over a week now. Doesn't suprise me with the way board members have been acting toward one another lately.
