I actually prefer many of the toy designs over the movie designs... except Starscream(I don't like either version). If they'd made the toys more accurate to the movie, they'd be even less kid-friendly than they already are, and they'd have so many parts and require so much factory assembly that they'd probably cost substantially more.

Besides, because they've simplified the toys somewhat, they always have the option to, at some point in the future, produce collector grade movie-accurate versions of the transformers, along the lines of what they've done with the Masterpiece series.

I got them all so far, but I'm not sick of them. I'd just like a little more variety (other lines).

Bear in mind that some of us still have to complete the movie line(or as much of it as we are interested in buying). I'm eagerly anticipating more classics, but I prefer things to come out at a rate I(and the supply chain) can keep up with.

You're quite right, but Fall 2008 still seems like an excessively long time to get the Universe (Classics 2.0) line.

yeah, totally. It does seem like a long wait. But it won't seem so long for those of us who take an interest in the animated and allspark toys. At present I'm only interested in the new molds from the allspark, and certain key characters from the animated, but as has happened before, I may get sucked in.

I remember seeing some pictures of the original classics well in advance of their release and thinking 'I can't wait'. I couldn't believe they were finally going to release a decent Bumblebee toy.

As the year goes by, a steady trickle of information and images leak onto the net, and in the meantime there's plenty of other stuff to collect. By the time they finally start appearing in shops, we'll probably be eagerly anticipating some other forthcoming transformer line.

true, it's a terribly long time to wait, but let's put it this way: at least Has/TakaraTomy would have more time designing and perfecting the toys for this lineup. also, the long wait (a year from this post hopefully) will enable the companies to put out more characters and listen to fans (though this last point is quite debatable).

one thing that is hurting the movie and classics line was the rushed production jobs that led to COUNTLESS QC issues and errors, so hopefully this will all be remedied by 2.0.

I presume that after the movie line, Hasbro will have upped their production quantities. There's no way of knowing if Animated or Classics 2 will enjoy the same level of demand, but I presume they will be better able to expand production if needs be next time around.

On the other hand, the increased production during the movie line may have come at the expense of the forthcoming animated line. They may be behind hand with some figures.

Given the success of the previous classics line, and the movie line I hope they will have the confidence to put even more effort into the new classics, make them even more polished. They have the time, and there's decent odds that Classics 2.0 will be as big or bigger a success as the first line of classics.

I was never into the movi toys, I don't own any and have no intention of doing so. I'm not sick of the movie line just tied of seeing it and looking forward to Animated. In the meantime theres plenty of other non-tf things for me to spend my money on.

I am not tired of them... A little disapointed on how long we have to wait for the new guys. But I am looking VERY forward to the Animated figures.

So where are all the nay sayers now?

A couple of months ago when everyone here was flipping out about the lack of toys and how they were never gonna get any, a few sane people here pointed out that there would be plenty soon enough and that by X-mas we would be sick of seeing them.

Hopefully the impatient ones have learned a good lesson for the future and maybe learned a little patience.

Hell no.

No one learned a lesson. No morale to the story can be found.

As much as I'd love to agree with Bonger, I know CP is right. The real lesson is be careful what you wish for, because now we seem to be getting it....

On topic, I am completely fed up with the movie line. The Allspark voyagers look pretty good, but seeing as they are still a few months away, I grit my teeth to steel myself against the flood of crappy Deluxes that now fill the shelves that people were losing sleep about not finding over the summer.

I do find it amusing that after all the threads on "the drought" people are already sick of being able to actually FIND the toys.

I picked up the rest of the figs I wanted, all at retail prices. I'm as happy as a clam! And my wallet can use the break!!!

Like a lot of other posters, I'll be sick of the movie line after I find what I need/want/would just like to see on the freaking shelves. Aside from a single figure in a crushed package that looked like some kid stomped on it repeatedly, I still haven't seen '09 Bumblebee. Saw one Thundercracker and one Rescue Ratchet during one particular visit to Walmart, but had to pass on them at the time. They have since vanished into the ether.
