well I tell you what, i'm a sucka for Vader and the Deathstar so I'm pretty happy with this one guy, plus the box is huge!! It's an Icon transformer Star Wars thingy, and I'm very impressed..

Besides if one was to kitbash all it's take is a little repaint, a new face glued on to the original head and you could turn it into Megatron easy... not to mention a Prime head painted black and you've got a Nemesis Prime..

Though if a Kitbash of the Deathstar was done, as Megatron, you could invariably consider that Megatron Infected Primus and became Cybertron, and thus went on to fight Unicron, giving a whole new take on universe wars, and the Autobots needing a super Prime to defeat him.. cool idea huh??

The Turbo tank springs to mind as a cool idea for Optimus prime with a new head and repaint that would make a cool advisory for Megatron Deathstar..

The Turbo Tank, Deathstar, and AT-AT from the newest wave all rock. Actually as goofy as it looks the AT-AT is almost cooled then the Turbo Tank.

The Jedi Fighter from the last wave is very cool. The falcon is a blast, the Emperor's shuttle and the Arc Fighter are pretty good figures as well.

For most of them its jsut the heads that hurt them. Which is why I've been working on replacing the heads on several of mine.

And regardless of if you like them or not Hasbro is marketing them under both the Transformers and the Star Wars lines. They aren't 100% Star Wars toys, they fall under both brand names. And they are a hell of alot better then the Animorphs.

I have to agree with you here on the new wave of these figures. The Commander Cody tank, AT-AT, and Luke Skywalker snow speeder figures all look really good, a vast improvement over the "good alt modes, crummy robots with deformed heads" of the early figures in this line. I think I just may have to get these 3 since I've always liked Star Wars vehicles, as well.

i realize it would be a bad idea but i woul like to see this made into the comicbook world first from the starwars episodes 1-4 where maegatron made a timetravel device to destroy the autobos when they where in stasi lokc on earth but the autobots came in the device got damaged and sent the autobots and decepticons to another time and dimension transformers where badly damaged in the fight and travleing through time so they now needed to find new modes to stay alive and fight the decepticons.

thats my way of looking at it on how transformers vs starwars story line would crossover or maybe do the same with unicron and the autbots and decepticons have to work togeather to deafeat unicron and they may have the aid of the deathstar to defeat unicron in the procesess

I wonder if we could ever get any repaints/remolds as Botcon exclusives... Turbotank Prime really needs to happen.

Although I could also see Cody => Ironhide.

Pretty much. The only character it works well with is Darth Vader because he's pretty robotic looking from the start with his helmet.

Grievous would similarly have worked, but AFAIK his transformation was gipped so that he can't actually roll.

Boba/Jango Fett would have worked, but having a working cockpit forced them to make his torso to large, giving him Napoleonic proportions.

And the ARC-170s and Gunship... I don't know what went wrong with those. I guess the LAAT/i just can't be done well in deluxe size. :?

I don't see why not, if Lucasfilm is allowing THESE to be made - http://muppetnewsflash.blogspot.com/2007/05/disney-to-produce-exclusive-muppetstar.html. Although, Lucasfilm has had a longer relationship with Disney and the Henson folks than they have with Hasbro (I said Hasbro, not Kenner - I know one bought the other, but TFs were probably part of the reason the original SW toys trickled to a crawl after ROTJ).

Personally, I'd have jumped on the "TF characters as SW vehicles" bandwagon myself, though not necessarily in the same manner:
