TF Prime - No Deluxe Optimus?
OK, so I haven't been a fan of TF Prime, till like this past week. So I've obviously not been keeping informed on the toyline at all, but I'm curious, there's no deluxe size optimus? The only choice is the crappy $8 small figure or the $25 voyager size?

Enjoy the only US release of the figure in question by ordering here: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/exclusives ... ST=SO&PG=1
You could also get a version of this mold in the Prime Entertainment 2-Pack with dlx Megatron, but since it was not distributed in the US, expect to pay some mark up for it.

OK, thanks for that info, but I don't order online. So I was right then...there's really no deluxe US version out there to be had. Guess I won't be starting a collection of TFP figures then...

There will probably be on eventually, it's one of those characters Hasbro milks for all it's worth. The line's only just started, for the most part. Just be patient.
I believe only waves 1 and 2 have hit the US thus far.

Considering some of the "Deluxe Optimus Primes" we have seen in recent years, a TF: Prime OP would be way down on my personal wantlist.
As far as you wanting a deluxe Prime, is it because of price or scale? My guess is that Voyagers will be able to be had for the $15 price point sooner or later.

Re: TF Prime - No Deluxe Optimus?
Why do you say "$25 Voyager"? It's $19.99 at Target and Walmart. And it'll go on sale/clearance eventually.
You won't order online, you won't buy a Commander figure, and you won't buy a Voyager... so you're going to skip the entire line?
Sounds like you enjoy complaining more than you enjoy Transformers. Maybe you should stop collecting TFs altogether and take up complaining as a full-time hobby.

They're $19.99 at K-mart too, or they were when I got OP a month ago.

I have the First Edition Optimus and Megatron deluxe figures. They're up for grabs if you change your mind on the online thing. Up for grabs for anyone, actually.

Re: TF Prime - No Deluxe Optimus?
OK...I only collect deluxe size figures anymore, voyagers are too large for my tastes/storage areas. I don't like the smaller figures, just not a fan, so the $8 and under figs aren't for me either.
I say $25 because every voyager I've seen in stores for the past two years have been $22+ plus tax. Even if I wanted to collect voyagers, that's just too expensive for me.
I don't buy online because we don't use credit, and I refuse to use paypal. So the only other option is to use our bank info to sign up for echecks/debit card which we're not willing to do either. If it can't be bought in a local store for cash we don't buy it.
I also normally get optimus/megs first when starting a new collection and work out from that to figures I really want. I've got no interest in another bumblebee fig, not a fan of motorcycle bots, so not wanting arcee, I don't buy figs of characters that are dead within the first couple episodes, so no cliffjumper, and I can't stand bulkhead. So that leaves Optimus/Ratchet/Wheeljack. Without Optimus there's no point in starting a deluxe collection.

Postal money orders work. No credit/debit/bank required. Cash in, cash out. You get your item, simple as that. If you're interested in buying via that method, I have both Optimus and Megatron from the FEs in their Deluxe size.

*shrug* I don't know what to tell ya. Sounds like you've made up a whole bunch of self-imposed rules that only limit your own enjoyment of your hobby. Loosen up and you might enjoy collecting TFs more.

Re: TF Prime - No Deluxe Optimus?
Loosening up on collecting is what got me an attic full of TF's from past years that I can't seem to sell off, and boxes and boxes of comic books worth absolutely nothing now. If I didn't put limitations on what I will/won't buy anymore I'd be overrun with stuff. Plus having limited income puts a limit on what's worth buying. Buying a deluxe every few weeks is doable, spending $20+ (plus tax) on one fig isn't.
Autobot032...Thanks for the offer but I probably couldn't afford the FE Prime, so gotta pass.

Really? I think Prime Prime is one of the better deluxe Primes...

It's $25 at TRU. I was so desperate for a TF Prime figure, I grabbed one there, the first place I saw one. Then I found them everywhere else for $20. D'oh.

I was just gonna mention the same thing. That $25 is definitely TRU prices and at those prices they are definitely keeping the shelves warm now that Target and Walmart got Prime and Megs almost always. Anyways hang in there Abraxsis keep to your standards and don't compromise just yet. I'm pretty sure we will see another deluxe Optimus in the Prime RID line soon and why not. Remember how many lame deluxe OP were crapped out for DOTM?

For what it's worth, that mold isn't terrible, it's just that they should have done something better with the backpack. I like the aesthetic of most of it, but that backpack has prevented me from buying it. It really is a shame they didn't make it fold out into a jetpack or something; I feel like that would have been completely (and reasonably easily) doable. Even if it just folded up flat, that'd be fine. >.>;

Dear original poster. Why don't you sell your extra stuff? Or even trade. I'm sure there's plenty of people who will be happy to get them out of your hands. Be a little more trusting to your fellow Seibertronians!
Racast, just buy a deluxe DotM Optimus Prime already! First, he's cheap and second, I too, was a naysayer about that backpack.
However, once I gave him a chance and had him in hand, I was blown away at how perfect that figure was compared to the voyager DotM figure. Perfect vehicle, a very good robot mode, and a super fun transformation.

Well full price is 12-13 now. But yes, I understand your jelly. It sucks that prices are so crazy in some places.

Lucky, the only "deluxe" DOTM OP I've ever come across in the local Walmart is the $30 one with the trailer. I'd like a deluxe DOTM OP, but not for $30 even with a (fairly useless) trailer.

I honestly don't understand why they didn't go with a Voyager Prime for that set. I mean, it'd make it a good deal more reasonable. As it stands, 30 for a deluxe is WAY too much.

Overquoting to point out that the price is perfectly reasonable... for two deluxes at FULL price. Or one voyager at full price. Even if I like the fact to have a trailer, that trailer is just an empty box with mechtech ports. Completely pointless. Meh, it's not like I'll ever see the thing in store in Québec anyway.
