Well, let's see, brickness, general crappyness, and non show accuracy. But they're good if ur gonna build a house with em

- design/mold variation
- number of characters
- number of subgroups & teams
WORST THING
- lack of size consistency
- lack of articulation
- loose weapons, fists, add-on parts, etc.
- the out of left field design & color changes from TFTM onwards
- inability of 95% of the figures to look good in BOTH modes
- lack of bot modes looking anything like the cartoon/comic
- no Skyfire toy ever made
Skyfire no...Jetfire yes
Exactly my point. I always wished they made Skyfire instead of using a Robotech design and calling it Jetfire.

Revoltech wasn't even in the works during the 80's.

Yeah, I meant Robotech. Ever since Revoltech came out, I've regularly been making that mistake. My brain says "remember, it's ROBO not Revol" but I still end up typing Revol anyway. Kind of embarrassing.

The lack of articulation annoys me the most about the G1 line. I also hate how some of the G1s only possibly resemble the characters. I'm not just talking about the original Transformers who weren't originally Transformers )diaclone, etc.). I'm talking about Galvatron and even Wheelie. They barely resemble the characters they are supposed to represent!

The best and worst part of G1 was the simplicity.
You could transform most of the bots in about 5 seconds. This was great for play value as a kid because you really could have Transformer wars on the floor with your friends. If a kit tried that today there would have to be 20 minute breaks in the action every time he wanted to transform his toy.
That same simplicity is what causes things like the lack of articulation, Wheeljacks monkey arms and many of the toys not looking like their 'toon counterparts.
It's a trade off.
I wouldn't give up my MP Prime for anything, but there is a joy to the simplicity of G1 prime that I still really love!!!
