Yeah so an unknown took it.
But sometimes thats a good thing, makes you look out of the box.
I wold have liked to seen the Killer Shrews make the list or Attack of the Giant Leeches...
But what cha gonna do!?!
Nice line up though, I forgot all about Reptilicus!

How was Godzilla not #1? That's not right.

I thought for sure Godzilla was gonna be #1. After all he is "King of the Monsters". The Giant Claw? More like the Giant Piece of ****. I never heard of this thing. It's just a big vulture. And when they kept saying "it's like a flying battleship", I couldn't help but think of Tidal Wave. Nuclear Man?! I totally forgot about him. I wonder if DC has or ever will reuse that character. That would be a good idea for an episode in a new Superman show. I'm glade he put the Host on there. That was a good movie. The best monster movie in a long time. I'm surprized Megatron or Galvatron weren't in it. Nor were they in the Baddest Bad Guys video. Just look at his body count in TFTM. He kills most of the season 1 & 2 Autobots, including Optimus Prime, plus his former ally Starscream, and Ultra Magnus. And he even had the ball bearings to go up against Unicron!

I'm just happy Reptilicus was in there. Been a while since I've
watched that. Been an even longer time since I've watched some Gamera.
Godzilla shoulda had the top spot, but since he would be so
expected I guess those who make the decisions wanted to
mix it up a bit. Nice find.

That list is bullshit.
Why?
Godzilla is the king.
He should have been number one

Not a bad list, but Stay Puft shoulda been higher! And I agree. The top three was in a bad order. I mean... the Giant Claw as #1?

In a Galaxy Far Far Awry issue 1: Serial Fiction Sideshow now for sale.
Issue 2: Home Sweet Home Invasion also for sale.
Back issue 3: Technophobia coming soon. And you can help!

To be honest I saw the Giant claw when I was a kid and it scared the crap out of me because it was so ugly.
I don't agree that Godzilla was not #1 though..
If someone gave me that list and told me to rank them, I would have structured it something like this
1) Godzilla
2) King Kong
3) Gamera
4) Reptilicus
5) The Beast
6) Stay Puft
7) The Kracken
8 ) Tadpole monster
9) Brontosaurus
10)The Giant Claw

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

So no one else noticed that he said "the kraken of greek mythology?"
And no ways can King Ghidorah not be on that list.

The guy mentioned if he used more then just Godzilla from the series the entire top 10 would be Godzilla and his foes

Which is true, Ghidorah and Gigan are total bad asses!

Godzilla is allways number 1 to me
To put Kong over him was a mistake and this giant claw was a tragedy

Re: The Top 10 Giant Movie Monsters
I wouldn't have Godzilla as number one, though I seem to be alone. I grew up on Harryhausen, not men-in-suit kaiju monsters. So for me it'd be the 'kraken' in "Clash of the Titans". Same process evidently applied to whoever compiled this list.

heh, i doubt the Greeks even had the notion of a Kraken in mind back then. i thought that monster was a Northern European concotion.

That's my point. 'Kraken' is a Scandinavian word, and the legend comes from the northern parts of Europe.

Re: The Top 10 Giant Movie Monsters
The only monster that sucks more than King Ghidorah , is Mecha Ghidorah.
Sorry, just never liked the stupid thing!
3 wavey heads, wings, gold, all nice. But no fightworthy articulation, hence he always gets his ass beat!

Re: The Top 10 Giant Movie Monsters
The video was done by the Angry Video Game Nerd, and I'm pretty sure he was naming "The Giant Claw" as best movie monster in a tounge in cheek manor. Or, at the very least naming him the top monster because of it's unbelievableness.
At any rate, King Kong should have topped the list, cause even though I've never seen the original, the clips there make it look much more interesting than the 2005 remake. The thing about the 2005 movie is that it's just way too much action, and I have a hard time identifying with Kong as a hero, or even an anti-hero. To me, he just comes off as too much of a villanous monster. I really oughta get or see the original Kong someday, as well as Clash of the Titans and other non-Godzilla movies, cause I do love giant monster movies, they just rarely appear on TV.

Ya the gojira man shoulda been #1.
Seriously who the hell cares about the giant claw?
But gamera shoulda been #2.
Just because of the modern trilogy.
Those movies were simply perfect.

Re: The Top 10 Giant Movie Monsters
Everyone except Duke in this thread fails at humor, and perhaps life. Horribly.
Swear to God, people must get some kind of perverse, masochistic pleasure out of taking stuff on the internet, especially stuff not intended to be serious, and somehow taking it personally.
While I think much of the list was created in an honest manner, the #1 spot clearly was not, hence the high percentage of failure in here.
As for Godzilla taking a back seat to King Kong, it's more than fair. Personally, that's exactly how I'd stack it. King Kong is the great-great grandfather of the genre, of creating a menace so imposing and powerful, and yet with some semblance of qualities we'd otherwise think as uniquely human. Without Kong, daikaiju would have never existed, and we would have not seen the genesis of such dear characters as Godzilla, Gamera, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, Guilala, and even the worst of the B-movie beasts brought to life by Hollywood.
Bah.

Damn straight I am.
But that's exactly what I'm talking about. In a very snarky tone, you know, my usual, I said everyone "failed." What the hell does that even mean? How would such a meaningless threat or insult or whatever harm you?
