Yesterday IDW Publishing updated their Art Du Jour section with a colored preview of a page from the upcoming first issue of Beast Wars: The Ascending, scheduled to be released on October 3rd. Today they have updated the section and have posted the full completed page. Check it out here.

First off, I have to say that I said "scheduled to be released on October 3rd" with doubts that it actually will be released on that date. Naturally, I don't want to show my distaste and scorn about the issue in a news post, so I'm gonna do it here, instead.

Number two, it's apparently obvious that both this and the first issue of the Profile books are complete. Or, at the very least, complete enough to have posted full complete preview pages (as opposed to just artwork) and an advanced review. So why the hell aren't these things out yet?

I really don't have a clue, and I don't particularly want to believe the only real explanation given, since it really doesn't cast IDW in a positive way, and the last thing I want to do is to have them go even further down in my respect than they already have.

That's quite a bit different than the other image. I mean WHOA type difference.

It must be a printing error or distribution problem DB, I agree with you that the reason they gave was very weak at best. The fact that we got advanced reviews of issues that would be the same as the versions available in store means something odd must've happened.
