In Takara Tomy's latest round of Transformers Prime Arms Micron releases AM-29 Shockwave has been a bit of an odd man out in terms of in-hand images. Luckily for us the Cat and TF blog has posted a ton images of this guy, including comparison shots with his Hasbro Generations counterpart. The figure features a lighter shade of purple and an Arms Micron figure that replaces the Generations figure's blaster but still manages to integrate into his alt mode. We've mirrored some of the images below, many more can be found here.

Shouldn't that little news icon photo be of AM Shockwave and not Hasbro's version?

As much as I like the little beetle micron, those things on his wings look disgusting (rhyme not intended).

I'd gladly go for the Hasbro version if I can still find one locally.

They're horribly placed, though. I can understand the added weapons options they offer, but having those two large pegs sticking out of the wings sideways looks awful. If they were placed like AM Soundwave's, where the pegs doubled as gun barrels and faced forward, they'd actually look decent. In Shockwave's case, they look really stupid unless you pegged a pair of guns on them.

Well, they could do some sort of exclusive toy where they color him like G1, but they wouldn't do it for their main line where it's intended to be Aligned Shockwave.

Uh oh!

I just realized that this Shockwave's Micron cannon CANNOT attach to Shockwave's arm in place of his hand like the Generations cannon can.

The Micron doesn't have the tab needed to connect it to Shockwave's arm, so the only way for Shockwave to use it while in Robot Mode is to hold it in his fist.

It's a Transformers Prime toyline. It's Takara Tomy Transformers Prime Arms Micron AM-29 Shockwave. What did you think they were intending? :???:

Would LOVE this figure... if it wasn't such a weenie in size. Been tempted to pick him up several times... but he's just SOOO "itsy-bitsy". A voyager would be nice... to fit in with the rest of my deluxe figures.

Things are NOT looking too good for AM Shockwave. The owner of my local hobby store told me there was a new shipment of Shockwaves coming, and I had him reverse one for me. Hopefully it's not the Takara version.

If it's the Hasbro one you want, he's still shelfwarming at every Target/Wal-Mart/TRU I've been to.
