/PANIC!
Never seen anything remotely close to this. Any advise?
I think I'll bring the trash cans in, chain the grill down. People with exp. with this type of thing, anything else I should do to prep?

Sit tight, and know that it's hitting me on Saturday or Sunday.
Please take some of the bluster out of the storm.

Not too bad, but I'll be stocking up on batteries tonight just in case my power goes kablooie.
Same here, I ran out, got me 3 pizzas, a pie, some ice cream, candles, batteries and some board games.

Go with what Halo said. Only instead of an umbrella, go buy some rope, some heavy duty shower curtains or tarp. Make yourself a man-kite and ride the wind.

Go buy some PVC piping, and a shower curtain. Turn your bike into a sail-bike. That would be wicked fun.

If that could work, it'd be awesome.
Na, my work is only like a 1/2 mile away. Just sucks because even riding two blocks down the street, I get soaked. (Shoes, socks, pants, etc) Not a fun feeling to be soaked all day long at a warehouse job.

Hahaha... I love this idea!
I live in Florida, where we get plenty of hurricanes and gusty weather. Back when I was in high school, there was this really bad storm, bad enough to have schools closed for a day or so. A friend of mine told me that he tied two corners of a blanket to his ankles and held the other two corners in his hands and jumped off a tree... he said he kind of glided down like a flying squirrel. I wish I could have seen that

You just need one of those Gordon's fisherman outfits, with the pants and all!
