A friend of mine likes to buy games on the cheap to expand his library, even if he doesn't play the game to completion or anything. So he bought Amored Core: Last Raven for the PS2 when EB was having a big sale, and decided to let me borrow it last week.
It's essentially the first AC I've ever played(loved the demo for the first PS1 one, but never got around to buying one), but even understanding the controls I can't belive how hard it is. I got stuck at a point where I could only do one hard mission and just restarted for the second time. Even though I only did about four missions before each restart, I'm already getting kinda annoyed.
So I have a question: am I really, really bad, or is this game extremely difficult and cheap? I'm almost positive it requires you to have played the two previous games before it to have all the best parts already in your inventory, and it's not a game for n00bs. Still, I'll keep playing.
Armored Core: Last Raven, AAGH!!!!

I have this game.
I've been an AC fanatic since the original for the Playstation. It's not too hard. Just terribly unbalanced. And the heating physics are still a beeetch. I think they lost it after Silent Line Armored Core.
Get the older ones such as AC2 or AC3.

I played even the Xbox 360 version beacuse I not now really fanatic on this genre but it sometimes really cool but the Xbox 360 game is really the worst AC I ever played, sure I just played two of them because as I said I'm not really fan of this genre because a human controls a Robot and i see that like enslave the machines, the same thing I don't like in the new MMO games Age of Armor that Humans controls the Robot again, that suck but there I have no choice it's the only game which is the most near to the Transformers.

Just so you know, there have been way more than 2 previous AC games before Last Raven. There have been in total:
PS1:
-Armored Core
-Armored Core: Project Phantasma
-Armored Core: Master of Arena(all parts & saves carry over through the second & 3rd game)
PS2:
-Armored Core 2
-Armored Core 2: Another Age(all parts & saves carry over from AC2)
-Armored Core 3(nothing carries over, all new save needed)
-Silent Line: Armored Core
-Armored Core: Nine Breaker
-Armored Core: Nexus(parts & saves carry over, although there's a glitch that if you carry your save over, you'll lose a part or 2; best to restart & build over)
-Armored Core: Last Raven
PSP:
-Armored Core: Formula Front
PS3/360:
-Armored Core 4

- Mazinger Prime
- Mini-Con

I meant the two previous Armored Core games literally, actually, though I guess it would be three(from Silent Line up). Did not know there were so many on the PS2 and only 3 on the PS1.
I've taken a break from the game, as some of the missions require almost perfection or really, really good parts to pass. Maybe someday I will pick up Armored Core 2 or 3 though, and they aren't that expensive either.
