Ratchet is a healer. He does do damage, but it's not much, and his specialty is repair.
Healers work in RPGs, sometimes they work in shooters (Team Fortress 2 comes to mind), but in a single-player game like Transformers, it wouldn't work at all. Because no one in the right mind would want to heal people while an NPC takes all the glory.

I think not being able to play as Bonecrusher or Brawl sucked even more.

And they werent exactly too effective on Screamer... And I would rather Brawl or Bonecrusher be playable.AUTOBOT STITH wrote:What about the double buzz saw and the gun he has.(Watch when Ironhide and Ratchet help sam to get the Allspark to the tall building.

well, you can play as ratchet in the DS version of the game. But I think it sucks that you cant do REAL free play. I hate not being able to choose your character when going into a level.

I don't think putting Ratchet, Bonecrusher or Brawl into the game would have saved it.
It needed quite a bit of help with tweaks and so on. The PSP version is awful, and the PS2 version I'm only picking up when it drops under $20 cause it wasn't worth it brand new.
Personally I don't think it was the rosters that killed the game, it was the glitches, the fact you couldn't choose your characters to play as after you beat the game, the annoying reminder about the next mission when all you wanted to do was demolition derby the level you were in, the fact that your blasters were useless on everything except the lowest form of drone so you had to repeatedly beat on them with the same melee attack over and over.
Need I go on?
