I remember wen I got back in to TF's years ago. Every figure excited me, even micromasters. Later on I discovered RiD, BW, Armada... So much awesome to choose from and years on... It got bland.

Before I start trailing off about how everything was better yesterday and for you kids to get off my damn lawn, I'd like to say that recently the collecting is fun again. Why? I got back in to G1. I find myself looking forward to payday and searching for sweet deals, missing weapons and figuring out form pictures how Crosshairs would transform.

I feel like I got the groove back. I'm happy as a clam.

I'm right there with you. I started collecting again about a year ago and the thrill of the hunt alive within my core. You get that little rush when you're walking into a place that MIGHT have something you're looking for. Lately the local comic shops are turning up some good finds.

God bless Transformers. I love the hell outta them.

Right now I'm waiting on a reply about a MIB Boadside. I find myself hammering on that refresh-button more than I should for such a brick.

I'm currently debating ordering a Sunstorm Grapple off Amazon while it's still available and under $30.

It's starting to lose it's excitement for me now. Not because the figures are getting dull, but because of hasbro's incompetence. Instead of looking forward to new figures I'm filled with doubt that it'll ever hit store shelves.

I agree that Hasbro kinda gets in the way of things, what with the cancelling and stuff. Still, while store shopping is kinda a pain, it's great to go to local flea markets and stuff and find older stuff.

Good to see your enthusiasm. Mine just wore off this year. I collected back in the 80s and early 90s, then got out of it for about 10 years. Then in 2001, I scored a complete MIB Fortress Maximus for $550 and the collecting bug returned in force. By the end of last year (i.e. about 2 months ago ) I got tired of it. i got every figure I had wanted from every line, crowned by acquiring the long-sought-after Masterforce Overlord. I now have at least 1 figure representing every major line, with both Optimus and Megatron also present. The only 2 figures I will be actively seeking this year will be a complete Cybertron Primus and (IF it's on the way) a DotM Leader Megatron. Otherwise, I consider myself a content collector.

On a small note, I saw RiD Prime Soundwave at my Walmart today, and it surprisingly impressed me. Might pick that up...

As a G1 collector I'm extremely frustrated at the moment. I think the reality has hit me that I'm never going to have enough money, space or time to complete my collection. Add to that the fact that I'm almost certain to be made redundant in the next few months and it doesn't look good.

...and it maybe me... But have G1's gone up in price? Some of them might as well be priced '$ retarded' on ebay.

Im always dippin in and out of collecting G1 every couple of month i get obsessed with a character and stalk ebay till i get one at a cheap price then end up paying just as much again for the gun

It sounds stupid but i sort of like buying an incomplete figure then hunting for the weapons even if it takes a few of month or longer to get a hold of .

At the moment im back into MasterForce and i even found some love for Action Masters.

Heh. I still need to compile a list of missing weapons (damn you, Brainstorm, Quake, Blaster, Eject and Grimlock)!

Masterforce is a bit of a problem for me. I only buy those MIB. MUNNEYS ARE HURT.

As a collector of many different franchises, it's never a dull moment.

I'm getting excited again too. (cue pointer sisters music)
THe movie stuff, generally, did not do it for me. After 3 movies and hundreds of toys released, I bought under 10. There was other things keeping me along, like generations and so on. It felt slow.
Now we have WFC/FOC inspired toys coming out, which I love the designs, I'm big into the cybertronian forms, neon highlights, and just, fantastical looking alt modes. There's a whole wave of 8 that I want to get. The last time I got a whole wave was...probably...during RiD.

The thrill of hunting for me is trying to accuire every Jazz and Starscream figure made. Currently I have Premium, DOTM Target exclusive, Kre-o and Universe Legends Jazz for his stock. For Screamer I have one from each movie(Voyager, leader, deluxe)and a broken Classics Deluxe that will be replaced. My ultimate goal as nuts as it sounds is to own all Transformers figures. It'll take time patience and determination, but it's doable. Till all are one.
