I'm still in the process of sorting accessories and stuff (you'll notice that many of them have rubber bands + baggies lashed to them), but I think the pics came out relatively well

Since I had so many requests for pics and details on the loose portion of the collection, I spent part of the weekend getting things out and setting them up and I took a few shots. It's allowing me to get a good grip on completeness and condition, after being stored.

Good lord, I can't even fathom the cost involved with getting everything AFA graded. It boggles the mind, I say

If the whole collection sells and I keep my Dinobots, I'll likely have those 5 graded, just to help protect them from the further ravages of time but, barring that, I'll just have to sit tight.

What happened to the original auction? I'm assuming it did'nt sell, but I remember seeing some guy say they wanted a bank loan for the set. I wanted to see how he was going to pull that off in todays economy.

Well, the winning bidder was a sham eBay account who edged out the previous high-bidder at $50,100. It was pretty much immediately apparent what had happened but eBay policy requires that you wait a certain number of days to discount the bidder before moving on to the runner-up.
Once the runner-up was contacted, he enthusiastically accepted, then declined, then accepted but wanted a lower winning amount, then declined again, citing family/work issues.
It was disappointing, but what can you do, right?
After that, I just resolved to list it again, but to cancel bids from 0 feedback users who don't contact me first and end on a Sunday instead of a Monday this time to see how it goes. Many (you wouldn't believe how many) people have emailed, called or said face-to-face "You know, you'd get a LOT more if you'd just sell everything individually," so I politely thank them for the advice. It's a damn good suggestion, I'd just like to avoid it, if I can. Very few people have that kind of coin lying around or even available to them and I completely understand that. Worst comes to worst, I'm only out the eBay fees and I get a story to tell my kids, someday.
So, now I'm just keeping myself busy with work and answering emails/questions from my pda.

Crap happens. I hate it when people are dishonest on ebay. I was once got screwed because I bought a model kit from a guy and he did'nt have it. I'm still looking for that kit.
If it does'nt sell and if you would'nt mind parting with a few loose figures let me know. I could swing by after school and pick'em up. You've got a few in the pics that I could really use.

No sweat. I'll contact you once the auction end to give an update on where things stand.

Re: G1 Transformers Collection, 500+ figures. Over 100 Sealed
Unfortunately, eBay took issue with the fact that I was offering 3 G1 Megatrons (gifts or otherwise), that two of them were pictured in collection group shots and they do not have the requisite orange tips to indicate that they are toys, so the action was pulled. I couldn't even pull the photos or adjust the description because their value was "likely material to the auction."
They offered me the chance to re-list at no charge, if it sells, so I'm mulling over the options. It's unfortunate that it was pulled this late in the game, as I'm sure the existing bidders are as annoyed as I am that this is the second time around.
Perhaps this is a sign that I should just bite the bullet, take the landslide of advice that's been emailed in, and sell everything individually.

If you do end up selling things individually, I'd love to get my hands on that G1 Dreadwind, assuming he isn't broken. I have one myself, including all the pieces, but his leg broke ages ago, so I'm looking to replace him. I'm also on the quest for a loose, complete, unbroken G1 Shockwave.
Anyways, if you decide to sell some things off individually, drop me a PM about those two.
