While the new cartoon may not be loved by fans of the original, don't despair. Bandai of America seems to be making some good toys for the cartoon as well as a classics line of 8" Thundercat figures, similar to Masters of the Universe Classics.
Check out some Thundercat toy photos from Toy Fair 2011
So while the new cartoon won't please diehard fans of the original Thundercats, at least you get some modern toys of the classic characters.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this series. Some of the comics in the early '00 by Dreamwave(?) were pretty good. I'm not a big fan of anime and the look seems inspired but not too heavy in that direction. I'll sample it for sure.

Where's Snarf? He's was the only Thundercats toy I owned as a kid.

Did anyone see the thundercats commercial on cartoon network?

Back in 2002/2003, Thundercats: The Return was put out by Wildstorm Productions which I believe was/is a property DC comics and ultimately Warner Bros. I have the graphic novel in arms reach of the computer so it was actually fast than a Google search.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the regular comics or the Thundercats: Dogs of War graphic novel but I think they were all from Wildstorm as well. While I would absolutely love to have seen some of those books made into cartoon format there is no way it would ever happen. They are done in the original format but the violence is more intense and Chetarra and the all-grown-up Wily Kit...

Yeah, after those books it's going to be hard for me to be impressed by ANY reboot of the series. All attempts to bring back shows like GI Joe, Voltron etc. etc...have all wound up nose-diving and I think the same thing is about to happen again with this show. I won't mind one bit if I'm wrong though and I actually hope that is the case.

I caught the new trailer today. I think that this incarnation might be okay. I noticed that it seems to be set on Third Earth. It would be cool if this were a ages-after sequel rather than a reimagining. Have they conflated ThirdEarth and Thundeera, or just forgotten Thundeera altogether.
If they can steer clear of robot teddy bears, I'll be happy.

Raise your hand if you owned the Thunder Tank and Cat's lair as a kid!
*Raises Hand*
I remember my paents saved up various points or whatever it was you needed and got me the mail-away Mumm-ra without me knowing.
I might catch this new show. Looks interesting. Gotta wonder what Jackal-O and the other mutants look like. Slithe and Mum-ra seem faithful to their original counterpart designs.

I had a Thundertank and a LionO as a kid but the girl down the road had pretty much every Thundercats and He-Man toy available. I think she may have been my first love at age 4.

I had the Thunder Tank, put me down for half credit.
I wanted the Cat's Lair but after having gotten Castle of Lions, Castle Greyskull, Metroplex and Omega Supreme I just wasn't able to get this other "big item" of my youth.
