Yeah, I think it's similar to ALL of these... because the windows are roughly the same shape. (VS rectangular in many other iterations)

BUT yeah. As I go through these photos, I'm actually thinking I may get Prime AND a couple others... just because they're so over the top outlandish. It's like caveman days primordial autobots.

That said, I wonder if this might mean we could see more Dinobots down the road, since we're doing beasts this round? Snarl, Slag, Swoop, Sludge anyone? If they could make them match the Grimlock aesthetic enough to kinda bridge the gap to the FOC line, I'd be ALL over it.

Lol, just misdirected hyperbole, my friend. It isn't just the day-glow colors that strike negative.

I am one of the biggest Prime(uh, the character) whores.

A slight muting would work wonders.

But, hey, if this is what it takes to get kids to start buying TFs again, I'm all for it. The line needs a boost, and I require a fiscal break from the mains. Particularly if the next year is going to be G2-Beast Machines.

Because we've got Generations FOC Grimlock on the way, and the design is flexible enough to be played with/displayed with Prime toys.

Thanks for answering ThatBot. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Yeah, with simultaneous toy lines, we're not going to get 5 FOC dinos AND 5 TFP dinos. BUT I could see them moving the toys around to different lines (ie. box styles). We see them squeezing in a generations toy into the movie line box sometimes, etc.

Same with them having to change the toy names for copyright reasons. We know their intended names. We know which line they match with. They've said so much at the conventions.

But sadly, I'd actually be surprised if we see ANY more dinos, actually. No one seems to get any love these days except ole Grim.

Maybe so, but Hasbro already hinted at a Voyager Grimlock of our own in the Prime line. Gregg Berger has been teased as a VA in the show. Redundancy strikes again: why not a Prime Grimlock first?

The more I think about it, the more I believe Hasbro will cancel the FOC Grimlock, tweak the deco, and repackage him as a Prime toy. :roll:

On the topic of Prime... if you get rid of the bright green, he looks pretty normal. I'm thinking that may be the top thing making him look like a kid toy.

And when I said the other dino's weren't getting any love, I DO know there have been a few rare appearances. But my point stands that compared with Grimlock, the other four haven't seen a LOT of action in the past decade... or two.

Grim has reared his ugly head in Titanium, Classics, Energon, Animated, Masterpiece... while the other guys pop up for a cameo every ten years or so. Ole G1 Sludge and Snarl haven't seen a new toy since 1985. (tossing out the reuse of the name in Beast Wars.)

But seriously, can't we all chat here without having to try to snipe each other on semantics? We're all entitled to opinions. I'm actually GLAD some people — including the BW fans — are loving these designs and lines. Glad to hear their opposing viewpoints. I'm not hanging out in forums to argue with people.

What's probably going to happen is the FoC Grimlock gets cancelled, they retool him a bit, and repackage it in the Beast Hunters line, rather than giving Grimlock his own mold. I mean, Prime Grimlock doesn't look a whole lot different from FoC Grimlock like the other Dinobots do.

I think you might be on the mark... we might see FOC Grimlock shoe-horned into the Beast Hunters line instead.

Either way, glad to put my money down on any dinos they put out... either line. Those have always been a huge favorite.

Indeed. My only problem is that unless we see the other Dinobots, Grimlock may be the only figure we get. Since Gregg Berger is the only one that was teased, and we can only imagine who he'll play, I question the appearance of the other four Dinobots. Plus, Grimlock & Swoop were the only Dinobots you could play as in the game.

They could give voices to the Dinobots by using some of the VAs that are already on the show, but so far each named 'bot has gotten a unique VA (Makeshift, Tailgate, Bee, and Soundwave would be the only exceptions, seeing as Makeshift is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson Bulkhead and Tailgate is voiced by Josh Keaton Jack with the last two having no voices).

I'm less interested in show appearances.... more in TOY appearances. Heh. Though, I would love them to show up in the show, even if they're just growling and grunting.

WOW. Way to put things in perspective doing a side by side comparison with the first TFPrime Prime. Definitely can see a difference in designer and age group, though the new one is still admittedly cute.

I'm glad, because "cute" was at the top of my list for a new Prime toy.

That BH OP toy looks like something that comes with your Happy Meal. Strangely, I don't think the alt mode's so bad--bit of a nice Mad Max vibe to it, actually. But the wheels jutting out from the waist...bleh. Not a fan of the green windows either.

That's clearly a mistransformation, it's foolish pass judgement based on that alone. These are stock photos after all.

And stock photos are almost ALWAYS mistransformed, and the colors are almost always brighter than they really will be.
