Botcon 2006: Exclusive Toys
Guys, I'm in a real bind here. My brother wants to go to the convention this year which is awesome. He's come with me twice before and we've always had a good time. However, he doesn't want to foot the bill for exclusive toys, and if he doesn't he'll have to select the option that doesn't allow for him to attend the awards dinner. I think that would suck. If someone wants to buy a boxed set of toys, he's asking $150 plus shipping. He would need the money before he pays for pre-registation. This is a good deal 'cause otherwise non-attendies would have to pay $100 more for the same thing if they were members, or $150 more for non-members.

Hey Dev. Is there any way you can cover the guy on the set untill the con? If so i'll buy the box set outright there instead of getting the second set of loose bagged. If not ask him to give me two weeks and i'll cover him then but I do want that boxed set. (Who know's. I might not be able to go and this is a cheeper way for me to get the box set if money is tight.)
Sound cool? Run it past him.
Anyhoo, seems like more and more problems keep getting dropped on your plate huh?

a second boxed set? T_T
I definately want a set of exclusives, but I'm not sure how I'm going to get them, or whether I'm going to the convention. I've been two two OTFCC's run by Glen, and TransformersCon just last month... but I don't get too much out of the conventions other than the dealer room and a lot of stress, so I don't know how I can justify the huge costs involved. I wish the hotel rooms weren't so expensive, or that I had to share them with so many people to make it remotely reasonable.
I don't really know what specific voice actors mean to me... I mean, I loved Tarantulas's voice, and Inferno, and while Blackarachnia was a bit of a Barbie half the time, I liked her. but I don't know what that really adds to the value of a convention trip.
I also have a bad situation with a guy I send a lot of my toys to in the USA, to save on shipping costs and sometimes tax. I've picked up stuff from him at the past two OTFCCs, but now it's not such a sure thing. And how can you say you're paying $600 to pick up a box of toys? It would obviously be cheaper to ship them. I don't even know what it would cost to ship that box. assuming it's even in condition to be shipped. It would be easier if I were going, but only if I actually thought it was worth it to spend the money to go to that convention.
the stress is the worst. I don't sleep well. the insufficient sleep combined with the stress effects both my digestion, and my thinking. On the second day I'm usually beyond my limits and I crash with a huge headache. I took a bus to the two OTFCCs and that added to the stress and lack of sleep and physically being jiggled around. not good for digestion either, especially such a long trip.
I felt pretty emotionally down when I left my 2nd OTFCC, but this past TransformerCon, it was so bad that I cried when I got home. It felt like a total failure, even though I hadn't spent any money on travel or lodging (since I was living in the city at that time), and "failing" in the dealer room is debatable, but I got NO vintage toys and no expensive imports (even more expensive at the con), and only bought loose Armada through Cybertron, but one of the biggest failures I felt was that I didn't talk with anyone, didn't connect.

Hmmm, Devastator would it be too late to ask for a request to let him pick up just the Botcon Megatron exclusive at the con as well?

Okay, sorry I never did a follow-up to this post. There was a buyer ready to go immediately after the initial post. I can try to pick up an extra Megatron for you Acidwing. I will have net access at the con so I'll be able to let you know as soon as I get one (after I get one for myself of course!).

Devastator, that would be so awesome!!!!!!:D
If you want, to make it easier for you, I can send the payment in advance (w. shipping cost + a little something extra;)) via money order so that you can have the money in hand at the con' (provided if there's any left). Let me know if that sounds good through pm.
And still debating about the actual convention set...looks great, but limited funds dictate that they're not a huge priorty...

I so want one of those Megs.
Pity I'm in Australia really.
I suppose if I really want it I can make it myself

I heard that.
As for pity, I'll hit BBTS up for one with a hypercharged price.

Why the question mark after Beast Wars Repaints? Are you unsure of what they are exactly? If that's the case then how can you say they suck?
They aren't Beast Wars Repaints... they are repaints of Cybertron figures based on Beast Wars characters.
http://www.botcon.com has the Rattrap figure on its front page, the others can be found on the menu to the left by clicking on "BotCon 2006 Figure Preview!"

Oh don't be so harsh. I loved the cartoon, just not the toys, wait wait wait ... as much as all the other Transformer series toys. They still blow away gobots. I just like Autobots and Decepticons more than beast bots. For Botcon we should have some original molds or at least some good molds redone. Changing a Cybertron Decepticon to a Maximal is a real easy thing and these guys have way more tools and $ to work with. One thing's for sure Cheetor deserves alot better.

Is the 6th free figure for attendees only included in this? ( even though we don't know what it is yet )
