Hey all!
Here's one of my latest projects - Classicsverse Hoist. I repainted a movie Longarm and did some very minor mods to his head.
I'm not as happy with this one as with others I've done in the past. Any suggestions on how to improve him?
Thanks!

Nice, LongArm is my favorite, and I'm happy to see a quality redeco befor Hasbro messes it up!
If I may though, alittle more grey in the face could help

Hmmm....good idea. I tried doing the head in green but it didn't look right. Do you think leaving the "ears" black and doing the rest of the face silver would look right?
As for the alt mode, I'm hoping that I can use the original Hoist stickers to add the trademark yellow and black caution striping. I just hope that the wheel wells are similar in proportion with the original. Reprolabels to the rescue!

Looks cool.
One tip though, you are getting visible brush strokes in your paint. Try thinning your paints. You will get a better application with several thin coats over 1 thick one.
If you can get one, an airbrush, even a cheap crappy one (you can get cheap ones at walmart) can do wonders for having streak free paint over large areas.
Keep up the good work, and post pics when you get the stickers!

He's looking good so far. I agree with the others about the face. It's a bit scary/ ninja-ish. You might want to forget about the light piping and just paint the eyes blue. Also, I'd make his thighs orange and maybe do the entire "knee pad" orange too.
Something to try for the caution stripes on his sides is designing them on the computer and printing them out. Just using some yellow paper and a marker is worth a shot too.
A clear varnish might help minimize those brush strokes.
With a little more love, I know this boy's gonna rock.

Somehow, I knew this mould was going to be used. It looks good but the thing I don't like about it is that it looks a bit too glossy if you ask me.
