Refurb figures sold as new?

Postby Jazz in Atl » Sun May 29, 2011 11:42 pm

I just bought my very first Revoltech TF's (late to the game I know. Megs & Starscream). Along with them, I bought what looks like a cheap knock-off version of revoltech, "Super collection figure" of Convoy and Hot Rod.

Well, the cheap ones really suck. The joints look like they were remelted to repair some type of damage, then painted, some basic refurbish work I guess. So now I wonder if the same was done with the Revoltechs sold from the site.

Has anyone else experienced this? In a related thought, are the TF's sold on clearance at large retail stores mostly refurbished returns that have been repackaged?

I don't mind sharing the name of the site I purchased from, but I'm not sure if it violates Energon Pub rules or not, as I'm a new poster here.

The Revoltechs are sweet by the way, I am hooked and want to find a Convoy Revoltech.

First, I think this is in the wrong forum.
Second, I don't think retailers repackage toys that were returned. Most likely they return them to the supplier but I don't know first hand.
Three, it does sound like those revoltechs were KOs foremost, then probably refurbished. I've never seen a KO come to me that was melted in locations and I've ordered some really bad KOs. I've also ordered some really awesome KOs too. It could also be the melted parts were too close to a heat source or something, maybe they came out like that when fabricated? Just a few thoughts.
