Is the one that's a re-tool of Prime OP getting a general release, or just the overpriced limited-edition Platinum release?

Voyager Prime retool = general retail
Weaponizer Prime retool aka Platinum = exclusive

I think that answers the OP's question, then:
Two different size classes, two different price points, two different markets.

I believe he is talking about the prid and Beast Hunters voyagers for Ultra Magnus.

The PRiD figure is most likely from the Binder of Revelations. In other words, the PRiD was concept art and the Beast Hunters figure is the final product.

Re: 2 Voyager Ultra Magnus Transformers Prime Figures?
My bad; I forgot about that one!
I already have the PRiD one, which I like. It's not GREAT, but I like it. Based on the pics, I kind of feel the same way about this one: it looks good, but not GREAT.
I miss when UM was mostly white with blue details.

Its kind of interesting to see Ultra Magnus get so much attention. Its strange when a line gets 4 different versions of the same character, and that character isn't Prime or Bumblebee.
Its also interesting to note, that we also got a FOC Ultra Magnus with a kick ass sword combo.
So that's 5 molds for Ultra Magnus so far.
In any case The RID version is decent, but has some definite issues. The Legends Class Magnus is very nice for what it is. I''m still debating over the Weaponizer. I do want that Forge of Solus.
As far as the Voyager retool, I like the mold, I own Prime form that mold (see my siggy), and its really pretty good. But I'm not sure I need another one, even a retooled one.

I've yet to see ANY Prime Ultra Magnus pop up in any stores. Voyager or otherwise.
The fact that on the pegs, it's all FOC or BH, it mean Québec, or even Canada, missed the last wave as usual.
Never change, retailers. Never change.

What I'm having trouble doing is deciding which Voyager mold I like better... show accuracy be damned. Any opinions?

Well, I can't stand the old one, and I'm quite fond of PRiD Optimus, so I'll give my vote to the remold.
The PRiD's arms are aesthetically terrible (those tiiiiny little shoulder struts look horrendous) and the gigantic, hollow back kibble interferes with the lightpiping. The paint is also VERY sub-par.
Also keep in mind that, if you do choose the vastly inferior PRiD mold, you have to apply some clear nail polish/your fix of choice to make the shoulder joints not complete nonsense.

I like the PRID one because it's a unique mold, not a repaint.

Well, I found a PRID one in stores, so I bought it.
I do really like the unique mold. The shoulders are troublesome but nothing some crazy glue can't fix. I don't know that I love the hammer, but it is growing on me.
Regardless, I'm happy with my purchase, as my new Avatar and Banner can attest.

Because BH has the Forge, I have to buy it. And that makes me crazy, because I really like the original PRID mold.
I suspect the show model was also cheaper for the showrunners, since the robot mode is partially repurposed from OP, who already had his character model put through dozens of paces.
