eh, there's lots of rumours floating around.
People assume The Rani from the season finale.
And then you have the rumour of that baldy headed fella playing Davros.
But at this stage it's all rumours and best not to believe.

That's the bloke!
Don't see why they need to get a big celebrity for the role of Davros, they would be pretty unrecognisable amongst all that make-up ... oh wait ... RTD ... Daleks ... *sigh*

Reconstructive facial surgery to look like Kingsley. Er... I mean Davro's original face. This is RTD we are talking about.
Did we ever see Davros unscarred? And was that story ever told?

While we're (sort of) on Davros, I've been watching quite a few older Dalek themed episodes on youtube recently. While the big D is shown to escape at the end of Remembrance he appears to bite the big one in the earlier Genesis and Resurrection. Now I grew up with the McCoy stuff and while I've seen quite a bit of the earlier stuff I'm far from the biggest buff around. Were there ever any in story explanations for his survival of apparent deaths or was it 'just one of those things'? Also was Remembrance the last time we saw him, or was there any other McCoy material where he featured?

He just had that knack for survival.
Davros has always been disfigured and confined to his chair, even in Genesis of the Daleks (where the Time Lords send the 4th Doctor to when Davros first creates the Daleks to stop him) he was in that state.
So if they're going to have a big name playing Davros ... wouldn't suprise me if he some how ends up out of his chair and not disfigured. I mean let's face it, every time the Daleks appear their characters seem to get more and more butchered.

Actually I find stories like Parting of the Ways andEvolution quite in keeping with the whole 'survival' agenda that Davros programmed into the Daleks in Genesis. Anything to avoid extinction and carry on the Kaled genetic structure in some form. Probably in the minority on that one though.

I half-agree with you there.
Plot wise it made sense for them to evolve like that.
What I hated though is they introduced this "Cult of Skaro" and we had this whole brand new style of Dalek, more dangerous than ever before, and then they go and turn what could have been potentially a classic Who villian in Sek into a pansy-arsed twit, wipe out two other members and then have a miraculous out of the blue temporal teleportation escape for the surviving member.

I liked the introduction of the Cult. The idea was brilliant, it was just done so very wrong in series 3. They should have kept them as a four dalek unit, screw the emergancy temporal shift rubbish, and have Sek as a fearsome force. I would have liked to have seen Sek face down Davros personally. That would have been a sweet meeting.
I also think they should have kept the Master alive. Why do they have to bring back all these big names, just to get rid of them.
I wouldn't be surprised if Davros gets killed permanantly this time.

Yeah, it's not like RTD has any respect for the elements of the classic series he feels like putting in.

Anyone else watch the new eps of The Sarah Jane Adventures?
I have to admit, after watching the pilot a few months back I was a bit hesitant about it and wasn't sure if it'd be any good, but after watching "The Revenge of the Slitheen" I can safely say, this is going to be a good show!
It's suppose to be Dr Who for kids but I think most DW fans should be able to enjoy it. At the moment I don't think it's set to tie into any Dr Who or Torchwood stories, but I still recommend it. Especially you CB because i'm sure your kids will love it!

ahh yes, the child slitheen, that was a nice touch. I felt a bit sorry for them at the end. But you just know that kid is going to be back and seriously pissed off.

I missed it. Worth cathcing a repeat if I find one? And I know it's aimed at kids, but I felt the pilot was too kiddy for my tastes.
One important question: Did K9 appear in it for more than 30 seconds?

I'd give it a try if you can catch a repeat showing, the story was much better than the pilot. No K9 as I think he's also getting his own series at some point.

K9 is no part of SJA. His appearance in the pilot was their way of explaining his absence.
He's still set to get his own "K9 and Friends" show in 2008.

"K9 And Friends?"
I have a bad feeling about this.
I'm picturing K9 and a bunch of other robotic dogs.
