This is a rip of a 1989 Japanese VHS cassette that was released along with a poster to promote the soon to be released animated movie in Japan. It served as a promo for the movie & also a "story so far" on the Transformers in Japan. It includes the original trailer for the movie, the intros to each Japanese cartoon show & some toy commercials from each, then at the end it shows the well known test footage for the movie complete with unused & alternate footage. Enjoy!

In more cartoon news, The Spacebridge has uploaded a Transformers 1986 Movie Japanese promo video to Youtube ripped from a 1989 video cassette. The video features trailers, commercials and deleted scenes serving as a "story so far" on the Transformers in Japan. Keep in mind that Japan didn't get the movie until 1989 after the Japanese G1 continuation of Headmaster, Masterforce and Victory.

If you were a kid back during those days, the animated and live action advertisements (especially the ones by Takara)who wouldn't want their moms and dads to get those AWESOME toys!
Plus, they all raise goosebumps all over me.
P.S. In the last segment, the Unicron Apocalyptic scenes, the background soundtracks, it reminds me of the ones used in Urotsukidoji (when chojins destroys the earth)......coincidence?

There's no new footage or newly discovered deleted scenes to be seen here, because it's pretty much a collection of the Japanese toy ads and spolier-filled opening titles, coupled with the US movie trailers and investor promos. Seen all of it before.
Remember how everybody you remembered from TF 2010 became a raging incompetent in Headmasters and even the giant combiners had to be saved by the magnificent, incomparable Headmaster warriors and their ill-defined magical powers? Fond recollections...
Remember the Masterforce Pretenders? Remember when some Earth human took over leadership of the Autobots, sent the Pretenders on patrol and you never saw them again? Remember when Ginrai's robot mode looked like that other dude - some background character whose name totally escapes me right now - for no apparent reason? Good times.
Remember when Star Saber was a sanctimonious, time-sucking Mary Sue? Ah, memories...

They were glorified kids toys advertisements. Heck back then, you'd had enjoyed them too. Suspended belief bro suspended belief.....if you become too logical then all movies and TV shows don't warrant a second look without all the gapping plot holes.

Edit: So long as you don't go the duragrip route then you're okay.

This is the highest quality version of the Transformers Movie promo trailer that was available for Japan or to pitch to movie companies or whatever. This trailer includes various unused animation and voice acting that didn't make it into the version of the movie we all know and love. If you watch the video below, it will start from where the "good" stuff begins.

Seibertron.com's YouTube channel has a lower quality version of that trailer that has been around for at least a decade or so. It's the same trailer with the unused footage, but it is much lower quality.
