Human Alliance

Postby Andrius » Fri Jan 14, 2011 7:26 pm

I capitalized on some holiday sales to finally pick up a few Human Alliance figures, specifically Jazz, Barricade, and Sideswipe. Even though I don't love the movie aesthetic, I have to acknowledge that Jazz is as splendid as everyone has claimed. Barricade's not bad, certainly better than the last deluxe of him I bought. I haven't gotten around to opening Sideswipe yet.

Are the remaining HA figures worth picking up? Even if they drop to $20 each? I can't imagine needing another Bumblebee and neither Mudflap or Skids appeal to me very much, but if the figures are interesting and worth it, I might reconsider. Any thoughts? How would you folks rank the HA figures in terms of play value/quality relative to one another?

Skids is a hell of a lot better than his deluxe version. Good luck finding Mudflap if you eventually decide that you want him. Either you'll need to be in the right place at the right time or be willing to fork over around $50 on ebay.

The best place to find HA Mudflap seems to be TJ Maxx. That's the only place I've ever seen it.

I think Skids is a great figure in the HA line. Actually, as a toy, I think it is every bit as good as Barricade and BB. Jazz is by far my favorite of the line though. Hasbro did a damned good job on that sucker. As far as Sideswipe is concerned, I would stick with a deluxe on that one. There are too many problems with the HA version, most notably the massive back kibble.

Huh, good to know. I've seen quite a few of these recently, at TJ Maxx IIRC.

I agree about Skids (or Mudflap) being a quality fig. After Jazz, I think those two are probably the most fun of the HA line...and I'm not a fan of either character by any stretch. Bumblebee is actually a decent figure, too. For $20 a pop or less, they're all fairly worthwhile figures. At $30, some start becoming debatable.

I've never seen any of the HA figures at the TJ Maxx where I live. They do have a lot of voyager animated figures, but I already have all of them. I guess I'll have to check there a little more often now.

I recommend Amazon.com for HA Mudflap. I just picked one MISB off there for $30.00 shipped. Scroll down to the bottom for better deals.

No problem. Mine came in the mail today, but I haven't had a chance to open him up yet.

You may be fed up with all the Bumblebee's around but the HA version is probably the most poseable TF so far. Loads of shoulder articulation. It's a shame his neck joint can't look up or down much but then the other HAs can't either.

Oddly, I LIKE the HA Sideswipe robot mode. He's better than, say, any of the Deluxe Motorcycle Girls from ROTF...

I remember a topic a while ago that showed you how to remove all of the kibble on Sideswipes back. Granted I don't think he would be transformable anymore but if you just use him as a display piece it might be worth searching for.
