I walked in to wake my mom up this morning, and found her there, dead.
I'm leaving. I don't know when i'll be back. Just know that i'll be around. I just don't know what to do now. This sort of thing has never happened to me before. I've never felt so numb and depressed. It feels like a part of me is gone, but I can't believe it. I just cant believe it.

I was going to reply all snarky to the title, but then I read the post.
Really sorry to hear that, it has never happened to me either, and I wouldn't know what to do in a situation like it.
If you feel the need for help, don't underestimate counsellors (are they free in the US as they are for students in the UK?). Just don't do anything rash or too impulsive.
Take a break, and think about family for now.

May not seem like it now but the numbness and depression will pass in time. Just have to try your best to focus on the good when she was with you and that will help.

thank you, all of you. its been tough. my grandmother flew out the same day, and more family arrived so i could take her belongings with me in their car. we dont have internet out here in georgia yet, doing this from my phone. im glad to have support from so many people, on this site and everywere else. im surrounded by a loving family, so i dont need a counselor. ive accepted it, though im still numb.
