Images of Transformers United Wheeljack, Rumble/Frenzy, Scourge, and G2 Optimus Prime
Re: Images of Transformers United Wheeljack, Rumble/Frenzy, Scourge, and G2 Optimus Prime
I am so happy that I will finally have a proper classics Wheeljack! He and Jazz are pretty much tied for my favorite Transformers ever and I'm getting them both in the same line! Huzzah! I say.

Yeah more or less. Transformers United is Takara's generations line. They are more expensive because that is the cost of importing them. They will be released in the us if you want to save money.
The Takara versions will not be released in the US. HASBRO versions of these molds, yes.
Yes that's what I meant, I guess I just assumed people would know that Hasbro releases TF in the us and they would be different decos.

G2 Laser Prime - I was pumped for this figure, but now I'm rather disappointed. The bot mode looks good except for the colours, but the alt mode is terrible IMHO. I'll stick with my Armada Supercon Prime.
Scourge - BOUGHT. I'm not bothered by the updated alt-mode, and I think he'll look great alongside my Universe Cyclonus and Galvatron.

I'm going to be broke after Generations gets done with me.
Finally, Wheeljack. So I'm guessing the idiotic inventions that explode on a regular basis are sold seperately?

So...guys. Have any of you thought about where the heck you're going to display all of these?
My classics collection already takes up twice the space of any other line, and my girlfriend's been complaining about my 2 bookcases ever since I got the second one.
I just...really don't know how to fit them all on the shelf.

OK, Havent read through the whole thread because there's a lot of it.
Looking at the picture, its probably the low rez but it looks like the combined form Frenzy/Rumble is Purple,
Which is the perfect get out if you think about it.

What the hell are those in Wheeljack's hands? Looks like either an Alan key or a pistol being held at the barrel end.
Either way, awesome alt and bot modes, and definite must-buy.
Frenzy/Rumble? Meh. If he ain't a minion and can't fit into SW's chest, and if he doesn't scale in with WFC SW, he ain't getting bought.

Definitely going to get G2 Prime and Scourge. I think getting the United version to represent Scourge and some Generations ones for Sweeps is a good idea.

Just a slight variation in color and maybe a few subtle differences would be perfect. Just enough to make him out from the crowd.

OK, so I'll go over what I think of each figure and what the repaints should be or could be.
Wheeljack: Well I'll be damned. I was pissed when I heard Wheeljack was a remould of Tracks. I'm not the biggest fan of the Tracks mould, but now I think I know why. Tracks and Wheeljack may have been designed in the same vein as Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, but Wheeljack was definitely meant to be the OG of the mould. Easy hit from the plastic crack pipe for me, and I take back all the **** I talked about WheelTracks.
~~~Repaints/Remoulds -- E-hobby Road Rage, G1 Downshift, G1 Slicer
Rumble & Frenzy: Rumble was Purple and Teal, Frenzy was Black and Mauve. So stick that in your fife! I love the mould in both mould, what a great job of re-imagining of great characters. Sure, it's the first we've seen of them and know little to nothing about them, but I'm optimistic. To me, it makes perfect sense these two are tanks. I mean they were classified as Demolitions/**** Disturbers so what better to raise the roof then as a couple of anti-aircraft tanks? I can't wait to see more, and have them in my loving love arms of love.
~~~Repaints/Remoulds -- Half-Track & Meltdown, Eject & Rewind, Wingspan & Pounce {just to hear peeps complain}
Scourge: Yup, he's pretty good looking. Head, Chest, pre-targetmaster weapon, tin-manicure. All of these things are my favorite things about Scourge. His vehicle mode is bad ass looking to me. I'm glad they walked away from Scourges old flying Kleenex box, and went with something a little more Bomber. Easy "must have" for any collector who doesn't think red finger nails are just for tweens.
~~~Repaints/Remoulds -- Decepticon Sweep (Face it, Hasbro isn't retarded. They see the benefits of pumping out a troop builder set. Dumb down the colors and maybe even slightly remould the head into something less "scourge-ish"), Vector Prime, Devcon
G2 Optimus Prime: I friggin' love that thing. To me, it looks like it has the articulation and range of a Revoltech, but actually transforms. Sure it's a shame he doesn't come with Grimlocks gun anymore, but I can happily live with the clearly Movie inspired sword. I don't really see what everyone else hates about the truck mode? This is just the first public image and everyone appears to think that's it, that's all there is too it. When I look at it I see a bad ass little truck with the classic G2 inspired "I just hit a deer and have it's blood running all over my hood" look. I can not wait to see how it poses with that sword.
~~~Repaints/Remoulds -- E-Hobby Ultra Magnus, United Black Convoy (You'll get it you vultures), Stunticon Motormaster.
All of these are fantastic and very easy picks for me. I've noticed a lot of people are under the impression that this is it, the last of the line? Why prey-tell would you think that? I think we've got at least two more waves of figures we have no clue about. You can bet the farm that there are more Scounts, Legends, and Voyagers just waiting to get their Reveal on.
I'm still hoping to see a new Trailbreaker (Trailcutter), Reflector repaint of Perceptor (more troop builder), Gears (the names out there), Blitzwing (come on, finish the trio!) or Insecticons (Names are there, would make great scouts AND troop builders)

Re: Images of Transformers United Wheeljack, Rumble/Frenzy, Scourge, and G2 Optimus Prime
I think some comparison images are in order, regarding the alternate mode:
Meh:

Awesome:

Blech:

Edit: I do have to make a couple of observations about the design though - it realy looks to me like the TF United Laser Prime still has doubled wheels in the back, but that they press into his legs in robot mode. Anyone else see that? Also, I think his sword transforms into his trailer hitch... or am I hallucinating?

For a few of the new figures I've had the g1 version as a placeholder so space for them isn't too much of a concern for them. For the rest I think I'm going to have to have a rotation system.

Can't tell about the wheels, but I think you're right about his sword turning into the truck's hitch. hopefully that means a plastic blade instead of rubber.

His sword looks like a giant combat knife. That's pretty freakin' awesome. Also, regarding "Meh, Awesome, Blech", Hero Prime has giant rockets! Surely that warrants more than a meh!

Ah, but Laser Prime also has those same giant rockets, as well as a multi-missile launcher (that can 'ripple fire'), a disc launcher (like the one BW Depthcharge had), a light up gun, and a light up sword.
Of course, since Laser Prime is a lot bigger than Hero Prime, I guess the air-launched missiles are proportionately smaller.

Of course, the scale difference was actually one of Hero Prime's redeeming values back in the day. While Laser Prime fit in well with the repainted cars (Jazz and Sideswipe) and the aqua-warriors (or whatever they were called), Hero Prime fit well with the Scramble City and minibot repaints and the rotor-force guys.
But where did the white cab come from?
Edit: Actually, I dismissed the inevitable Nemesis repaint of the G2 United Optimus figure because I actually have SDCC Nemesis Prime, but now that I stop to think about it, since I also have the Nemesis repaints of Big Convoy and Hero Prime, and since they are clones anyway, maybe I should just dub them their own subgroup, and display all four attacking Optimus at once. Too bad I don't have the original RID Scourge. I saw him once in the store and was going through a being-responsible-with-my-money phase.

Ok, now that sucks!
Bad luck man, bad luck.
As for myself, I had to get the Japanese version like so many other people, and what's worse is that the cat chewed up his sword... Or was it the old dog? Can't remember.

Anyway, I like the character Scourge, er- I mean Nemesis Prime, so I'll be getting the repaint.
I'll also be getting the original, but that's mostly because my brother got this stuff stuck in my head about "not having gotten G2 Prime" and being "G2 kids" etc. Makes me wish I'd actually gone to Bot-Con last year. Still, i really hate traveling anyway.

Wow, you must live further west from here (or south), it seems the further east you go the better.
Still, Darkmount ranges from sparse to non-existent just about wherever I've checked. Though I somehow found one by a freak occurrence at my local Walmart, where the stock is normally a joke. Still frustrating, due to the fact he has a slight defect, one that I actually kinda noticed while purchasing him.
I hope this recent sale moves things along a little.

DANG! its been a few days since i've been on and BAM! awesome stuff everywhere! I am so pumped. I don't think I've ever been more excited than I am for that Jazz. Wheeljack looks awesome! still kinda wish he was getting his own mold though. I saw something about rumble and frenzy combining. mabye they are going to be like animated Jetfire and Jetstorm? Each have their own robot and vehicle more and still combine in vehicle and bot modes? I could see minions of Soundwave doing that. I do have a question though......and I don't mean to start an arguement or anything but i grew up watching the G1 series and just watched them all again a couple of months ago. Where did the RIBFIR thing come into play? Rumble is clearly blue and Frenzy is red in the original series. Where their colors opposite in the comics or something? I was just curious.

RIBFIR/FIRRIB is based on the G1 cartoon. Until WFC and some recent IDW comics (plus UT's Ramble/Rumble), the 'toon was the only place where Rumble was blue and Frenzy was red. Every other media/merchandise (including the G1 toys, but not the G2 gobots) identifies Rumble as red and Frenzy as blue (RIRFIB/FIBRIR).
