It's everyone else who seems to be focused on the price because they keep complaining.
Im more focused on the value of having some of these characters on my shelf. It's annoying to read 2 pages of whinning about the 30 dollar price. I don't work in a coffee shop. My argument is 30 bucks aint s**t and I'm willing to take a total shot in the dark. Why not ? I was impressed with the Alicons and the tetra jets.
They don't see the value in it.
From what you're saying you don't actually place a value on a figure, you buy it on aesthetics regardless of its price( though I'm sure there are exceptions for you).
It's also nice to see how you feel about those that do work at low wage jobs, real classy.
I did my time in those type of jobs during my 20s. I never said anything bad about it, I just dont do it anymore. But one thing I also find disturbing is that whenever we talk high quality KOs all of the el cheapos suddenly become big ballers and are against saving a few bucks. But then 30 bucks for an obscure mini bot is taboo...
Nice.... [/extremesarcasm]

I have a feeling that's a gross over-generalization.
I feel you. But honestly i use impossible toys stuff with classics. Theyre articulated and very posable. I never agreed how posable figures fit in with bricks. Sure they might be a bit simple, buy IT nailed kranix and arbulis perfectly. And the alicons look like they will go great with the sharkies. Im a cartoon guy so Im quite happy with the simple easthetic as long as it isnt too boxy like that kronos skyfire. Im more attracted to these new mini bots for the obscure characters. That alone is worth the price to me.Banjo-Tron wrote:That's why I love this place because we seamlessly veer from discussing toys to minimum wage. Regarding these figures, they look like ass. They cost the same as a Unique Toys Sharkticon which is way larger, more complex, better engineered, with far superior plastics (not that it's free of fault) and THAT indicates terrible value for money. The argument about affordability doesn't cut it. Just because you have the means to buy something doesn't mean you don't want value for money.
For a lesson on how to homage and enhance a vintage G1 collection, go see what FansProject are doing with their bonkers Glacialbots. They are way smarter than Impossible Toys, because they Produce products which appeal to the mass market and use their solid position to take a punt on niche projects. They seem to have the right balance and more importantly they haven't thrown the towel in. There's a reason why Impossible Toys are goners and that is because the majority of their later stuff is crap, not a fact I know but something approaching consensus amongst the fandom otherwise they would still be here.

The FP Glacial bots are not selling well. not that many fans & import sites are buying these.
Most are hoping FP didn't make too many units of these Glacialbots. Because someting that sells this badly could easily make a 3rd party company go out of business like IT recently did. about the only thing Cushioning the blow & preventing FP from losing there company is the other A+ projects that are releasing in 2013-2014

What's your point? As I said, FansProject are smart in that they are not reliant on the success of their Glacialbots. It's like a blockbuster film studio taking a punt on an indie film. A calculated risk. Impossible Toys got left behind and were stubborn to change or diversify. That's why they're dead.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.
Rated X wrote:Well they finally dropped in my POL today. The 3 that I ordered came to a whopping $89.97. This broke my wallet so hard that I had to take out a reverse mortgage on my home. No more beer nights for me because Ill be working overtime for the next 3 weeks to recoup the small fortune I gave away to those evil IT guys. On the flip side, I finally have nice classics stand ins for glyph and tap out in case hasbro never fires up the bumblebee mold in colors people actually want. And wasper is a nice oddity worth having. Cheers

Congratulations can you post some pics and let us know what you think of it. I'm sure you'll give everyone your unbiased opinion. And plus you're the only person on the internet (that I know of) that got these. so some in hand pictures would prove to everyone here that these things does exist... Cause I'm still going to think its a huge joke if there's no actual pictures of it.
Who am i kidding I'll still think these things are a joke. haha
