Is Optimus Prime really the last Prime? I have been asking this myself really a couple of times because from what i remember he was Orion Pax before. So the last prime should have been Rodimus and not Optimus

Can anyone clear this confusion.

You have just made the #1 fundamental error: G1 and the Live Action Movies are not in the same continuity!

In G1, anybody who has the power to use the Matrix is destined to be a Prime, Like Optimus and Rodimus. However, in the Live Action Movies, "Prime" is a special bloodline of some sort, with Optimus being the last one. That makes the revelation of Sentinel Prime much more mysterious, but you should visit the Live Action Movie forums for that.

The Decepticon Scourge was not re-named as a Prime.

But how can they just bring a dead bot back to life and make him a Prime? A prime can only be a decendent of the Primes. I think that the last prime died even before optimus was renamed a prime. And to hide the truth, The gurdians of cybertron inserted some parts of the last prime into the dead Orion pax body and brought orion pax to life.
And you must have noticed that nothing was told about Megatrons past. We were told that he is the brother of Optimus. So, Where did he come from and how was he born? He was not orion pax brother then how did he become optimus brother? Then, Is Megatron a Prime?

Your mixing continuities.Each Tf continuity has a different definition of what a Prime is.

In the G1 toon continuity, you do not need to be a decedent of a Prime to be a Prime.....its more a matter of destiny.There were no guardians of cybertron.

Orion Pax was injured, and Alpha Trion repaired and upgraded him into Optimus Prime.

TF:Animated Universe, Prime is a rank, the equal to Captain in Star trek.There were quite a few Primes.

Movive-Bay verse is a matter of lineage/family..Also, Megatron was never confirmed to be Optimus's brother in the sibling sence.

The movieverse has its rules.

G1 has its

Animated, the A/E/C trilogy, RiD, and comics are all different too.

Universe (follows after Beast Machines, telling a war waged across the Multiverse and where multiple continuities are visited, ending with and tying into Cybertron. Not to be confused with the 2008 toyline of the same name)

Robots in Disguise

Armada, Energon, Cybertron (Known as the Unicron Trilogy)
Armada & Energon Dreamwave Comics

Live Action Movies

Animated

And to top it off, here are the BotCon original timelines:

Classics (which follows after G1 Marvel, but ignores G2 and Marvel UK)
Shattered Glass (ties into Classics, but is a mirror Universe)
Wings of Honor & G2: Redux (Variant G1 Timeline before the Great War)

Don't even get started on the Japanese timelines. My advise on that is not to bother understanding it. As a matter of fact, ignore this post completely. :oops:

Yup. The destruction of Unicron in 1991 (instead of 2005) caused a time rift from which the Classics-verse spawned from. Between you and me, that same rift annihilated the Gobots as well

I'm not the type to speculate over comics, my brain isn't ripe for that :lol:
