I'm really sorry to hear that, but I completely understand where you are coming from. As I work retail I had to come to terms with all of this a while ago, so I don't per-se feel this as much because of the crisis, but I invite you to start up a discussion in this catch-all thread, where everybody has been going to kinda be together and support each other on this

I think we all are, whether we admit it or not.

First it was the pandemic. It came on fast, everyone reacted, a lot of people overreacted. Everyone was locked down. Everyone was not only told to stay home, but threatened if they didn't. Everyone was told to social distance 2 meters outside, but everyone was forced to social distance for miles and miles from the people they actually knew, their friends and family.

Then there's the economic instability. Not only are you forced to stay alone, but your entire future is on the line. Do you have an essential job and are forced to be out there, in the thick of it every day, not knowing if you could come in contact with the virus? Or are you sitting at home wondering if you'll have anything to go back to.

And now we have the racial divisions cropping up again. Everyone is demanding that you take a side or else, and one side says you're a racist if you're not with them, the other side says you're stupid and promoting violence on the other side, and if you pick neither then they both accuse you of being both of those things.

I think no matter what, there's no escaping it. Everyone will fall into at least one of those, and there's nothing we can do about it except come together as a community and ride it out.

I think this is the first post I've made in....ten years? I'd have to go look. I think I've been gone too long. There is one thing to come out of this, some voices do need to be raised. And they need to be raised around the people that are alone or afraid. So I'll be here for a while.
