Can someone help (Resident Evil GC version)

Just picked up Resident Evil for the Gamecube today. I missed out on it before, so the copy I picked up is used. Anyway, I noticed while playing it that it pauses for a little bit while shifting to a different camera angle. This doesn't affect the actual gameplay so much as it affects watching the cinema scenes. It's only about half a second, but it's still noticeable.

Is this normal—or did I buy a lemon?

Phew! Oh well, this really seems to be the only complaint I have about this game. The controls are taking a little bit of getting used to, but the graphics are...um... incredible.

I was a big fan of the original RE for the PS1, bought it when the games came in those big cases. Playing this version is a joy—it's the same game, yet it isn't.
