does anyone have trouble connectiong the wii to the internet?

i know its a kind of common problem. im trying to set it up wirelessly. i have a linksys 802.11g wireless router. i know wat kind of security my thing has, and i have an ecription key and a router password. ive concidered getting the wire from nintendo, but can anyone help me? i dont want to pay $25
