Hopefully it includes the combiner parts, otherwise pointless.

Re: Fansproject Munitioner/Explorer Recolors
Had to do some comparisons to really see how these are more G1 than the first run (and lament Seib's anti-3rd party police since his photos accurately showed what I needed). The colors are indeed more G1 while the original run was definitely made to match the colors of the RotF set, therefore making this the superior set.
Not that I'll be buying this set again.
Although I feel the need to restate the rumor that, according to the FP Core people at TFcon, some other 3rd party company may be making replacements for the other members of the Combaticons. So, you speculative buyers may have another reason to pick this up.

Actually, from what I can tell... these repaints look like they're more reminiscent of the original figures where the first release of these guys followed the cartoons color scheme.
In any case, I jumped onto the band wagon when these were first released so I'm set. They do look nice in these altered colors though, I gotta say.

Of course they'll come with the parts that allows them to combine. It's a sorta-reissue.

Swindle looks very orange. Not sold on drab Blast-Off either. But...at retail price vs ridonkulous after market prices for the originals...maybe.

Im a sucker for Combaticons. Just pre-ordered the Asia Exclusive when I saw these pics. When are the pre-orders going up for these ? I will gladly have Both Bruticus and a set of combaticons in robot mode to display. Plus an extra set of parts to make the TFCC Nexus Maximus along with Flamblast and Warcry.

Yep, I just grabbed an extra TFCC Landquake, already have an extra TFCC Heatwave and TFCC Topspin and also grabbed an Energon Kickback.
My plans for this one are to have 2 tanks for legs (Kickback and Landquake), Heatwave as the torso (obviously) and 2 choppers for arms. I'm looking to snag an Energon Stormcloud to be the second arm and plan to buy 2 FP Explorers once I've confirmed that the arm piece for the helicopter is ambidexterous. I won't actually use Munitioner or Explorer themselves for this combiner like I used Flameblast and Warcry for the last one, just the combiner bits they come with.
I haven't decided if I'll swap out Heatwave/Nexus Maximus' combiner head yet for FP's like I did with my original custom or not. Probably not as I want this one to be different.

I think they look bloody aweful. Munitioner has spent too much time on the sunbed and Explorer looks like a dead version of his former self.

Nice, here's mine, at least the first one I did. Like I said, I'm going to do a second, but it will be quite different.

Thanks

Yep, I did that because I didn't think the gray/drab coloring of normal Bruticus fit with all those pretty/shiny bots from the TFCC set so I did a bit of painting on the details and it turned our pretty nice. He's my fav of all my combiners now

The way the chopper arm transforms (and the shuttle arm, for that matter), the forearm is facing the same way no matter if it's left or right arm. You just rotate the figure at the waist 180 degrees to switch the direction the shoulder faces. So yes, the FP forearms will work either way.
I did a visual comparison of the Munitioner/Explorer redecos with the new deco on Takara Asia Bruticus, thinking maybe they were trying to match that. Doesn't look like it, they're going straight G1 with the new colors. Munitioner is a darker khaki than Swindle, and Explorer is black where Blast Off looks to be about the same brown as his ROTF/Universe version. So I don't know how well the new decos of these sets will mesh with each other, but I'm all the more glad I have the second run of the original Crossfire 02 deco.

I don't really see the point in the redecos. I don't really care either way. I'm just saying.

If you make it, they will buy. And there's always some people who want stuff to be uber-G1, so this fills that niche. And it's another use of the molds, so they can get more profit off, especially from people who are new to the 3P scene and missed on either Crossfire 02 or Causality 01 and 02.

Hi. Since youre first post is an advertisment for Crossfire pre-orders, Im guessing you might have some connection to BBTS or Fansproject. Is it possible to find out why they doubled in price ? I bought my Explorer and Munitioner brand new from BBTS for $49.99 each. flameblast and Warcry were also $49.99 each. What is going on with the doubled price ? I dont think this is acceptable for retail.

Re: Fansproject Munitioner/Explorer Recolors
Those preorders show the original and are probably the originals and not the recolors.
Plus, if they are the originals the price hike makes sense. BBTS probably feels they're justified in the price since it's such an old product.

I e-mailed BBTS to see if they can clarify whether these are the originals or the re-colors. I also questioned the price hike since they are coming direct from the factory. Hopefully on monday we get an answer. Until then ill keep my pre-order for the Asia exclusives Bruticus Maximus.

Me either. The pre-order says October so Im thnking thats too soon to be the new versions. Thats just my guess. Although, I disagree with the double price, but it they are the old stock, it kind of makes sense. Although I doubt they will sell too many originals at e-bay prices...

The listing is indicative that these are rereleases of the original versions. If that's the case, it must be a rather low print run from FP, because there's no real reason for such a price hike (as mentioned before, that's double the original price). Other FP products that have seen recent print runs have been priced a bit higher than before, but not at this level. It's puzzling that FP would sell the originals AND the recolors around the same time.
Sadly, I disagree with your assessment of selling them at e-Bay prices. I just did a completed listings search, and $200 is still cheaper than any completed set that has been sold in the past 3 months.

The new Munitioner would be a godsend as I managed to break the shoulder peg off on my original.
