Finally completed my application to the 501st.. (Update on page 3)

Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

Finally completed my application to the 501st.. (Update on page 3)

I was originally going to join in 05 after I put together my TK armor but once it was completed I found out that my neck seems a bit too short for a stormtrooper, (although some of the guys in my local garrison say that it is just the helmet and if I had a smaller one it would fit fine.) and of course hurricane Katrina did not help things..
As some may know that when you join the 501st you have to have a somewhat accurate costume and you have to supply full body pix, headshot and some reference photos.
I submitted my application for a Sith Lord and these are the pix I sent in

Image

Man my head looks silly from behind.
Image

And my head shot which I just cropped from the top pix.

My wife made the outer and inner tunics, Tabbards and obie. The pants, glove, leather belt, boots, food capsules and belt pouches were all bought.
Now it is just a waiting game until they finalize my application..

Spiffiness. That's a nice outfit.

Hopefully one day, when I'm older, wealthier, and in better shape, I'll be able to join you.

With Commando or ARC trooper armor if possible.
Check out my books, Titanomachies and Divine Retribution, on my blog!

A fair warning if you want to be a Stormtrooper the costumes are expensive

I was going to be an At-At Driver but I lacked the funds

QFT!
I have TK armor that cost me right around $1000 (and that is unassembled).
I got the armor for $650, the extras rounded it up to a little over $1K.
The extras I got with it
Bodysuit
Boots
gloves
leather holster
Grey pauldron
neck ribbing

Costuming can be quite an expensive hobby..

QFT! My Waffen-SS kit is taking **** ages, I thought I'd be okay with tunic, trousers, boots, belt, buckle and sidecap but then I found the battling side of re-enacting and now I need a smock, y-straps, ammo pouches, bread bag, gas mask tin, zeltbahn, helmet, de-activated rifle and bayonet...the damn list goes on! :-(

Son of a monkey-licker, that makes my Darth Vader suit look like donkey-poo.

Now I want to be Obi-Wan. Because then I could set you on fire, like in the movie.

I looked up a Darth Maul costume on Kropserkel and it was $700 + if you got the boots, gloves, and the combat suit, BUT not including makeup, lightsaber and the big robe thing Maul wears! Kropserkel is good, but they can be expensive

Nice costume CB :APPLAUSE:

That's awesome CB! I hope they accept the application. If I had the time, money, and resources, I'd consider being a protocol droid. I'm definitely skinny enough, but I wonder about the "comfort level" of wearing such a suit.

Cool costume CB, and quite a mean look.

I have to say, that's not what I expected you to look like. I always picture you with grey spikey hair, etc., etc., like many of your old sig pics. Dumb I know, but when you never see someone in real life.

Hey CB, When you join the 501st, is it mainly an online thing, or does everone also meet in a building and act out their character and stuff too? How often does the 501st meet?
And lastly, can there only be one of a certain character at a garrison at a time, i.e one Darth Vader, one Emperor Palpatine etc., or can there be more than one?
