The first Resident Evil.
"This place is spooky as ****, I'm going to go right out the very same front door I was just chased through"
WRONG
Nope, that half mangled dog tried to bite my god damn hand off. "Maybe I'll just take a stroll around this dilapidated mansion. This long, poorly light hallways looks like a good place for a leisurely walk."
SYKE
THE SAME PHUKING DOG JUMPS THROUGH THE DAMN WINDOW! Ok, well it clearly wants a Snausage... or to taste my fear after making my hart beat so hard it cracked a rib. Hmmm mayhaps I'll avoid this hall for a while, but surely nothing else will happen in this very location that hasn't been done before.
BAMN
Big spider. As if the fleshless dog wasn't enough to turn my ps2 controller into a bop-it the large spider surely wouldn't allow me to sleep for the next month.
Screw you Capcom.

Only a few times, the firts being Resedent Evil 1 on the original PS (those damn cerberus dogs that bust through the windows in one of the first hallways.)
Most of the time now, it comes from playing Borderlands. You turn around and all of a sudden there's a physco midget behind you being comepletely silent, ready to attack. It's not really scary, but it gives you one of those oh **** moments every now and then.

Sometimes, just checking one more store isn't worth it

First time I ever played on a PS1. I never ever wanted a games console, I liked home computers and couldnt see the point.
I was round a friends house and we were playing Tomb Raider. He was some way through the game and I was just used to the controls and enjoying the 3D etc etc. I was playing the Lost Valley level with these little red Dinosaurs which were easy prey then all of a sudden the great big T Rex comes lumbering round the corner. I wasnt scared but for the first time playing a game I panicked. That was when I decided to buy a Playstation.
The Silent Hill series is pretty scary up to number 3, after that it lost its way a bit.

RE4 scared me so much, that I'd end up playing it all night just to feel safe to go to bed when the sun would start rising.

The games that scared me most are Fear, Fear 2, and Bioshock.
Fear is scarier then Fear 2.
I never play them in the dark.
And In Resistance Fall of Man Menials are full on creepy. Leapers are scary too. But cute also.
In Resistance 2 the Grims are are horrible.
On PS2 Ghost Hunter has scary little ghost girls with their teddy bears that grow big and attack and hit you with the little girl. They are creepy.
