Left4Dead/Left4Dead 2, Who Plays?

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
I just finished a round of 2 with Autobot_420, and he mentioned that other members here play it. Well, add me to the list. You'll know me on there as Autobot032, same as here.

I have to say, I still find 1 to be my favorite. I love the characters to pieces, especially Bill. 2 is quickly shaping up to be a good one, but I'm still having a bit of trouble getting used to the weapons system, melees and all that. (I do so love the sword. And the chainsaw.)

1 will probably always be my favorite, and I know it pretty well, but I'm still learning all the ins and outs of it. It'll be a while before I come close to even knowing how to work all the odds and ends of 2.

I must admit, I love that 2 has new levels and ideas never seen before, and the hurricane effects are just awesome. And while I understand they went for realism with the water and how it slows you down as you walk through it...it's an absolute pain in the neck. Blargh.

Now, in 1, there's sweet spots, such as:

No Mercy: sending the lift up, running back to the building and popping the gas pumps when the horde comes.

Crash Course: climbing up on the wooden shelves after firing off the howitzer.

Dead Air: taking the short cut off of the scaffolding and running back to the safe room when the horde comes. Climbing up on the wing of the plane, or in the closet, or on the wall during the finale. (I kinda liked the wing, but you gotta watch out for Smokers on that one.)

Blood Harvest: sending someone out to set off the flock of birds, then hunkering down against the ledge wall as the horde comes. And staying in the house in the corner with ammo and health packs near the radio. You can see all sides and kill most, if not all that gets in your way.

Death Toll: setting up gas cans on the back window of the church and then popping the two out by the sandbags when the horde comes.

And I'm sure there's more places and ideas I've never tried. Now, that leads me to 2.

Any tips or hints? Any good places to set up shop as you blast your way through the zombie apocalypse of awesome?

Oh, and because it was brought to my attention...I'm PC with a 360 controller. No mouse+wasd for me. No good at it. (Not sure why my control setup is so important, but I've had several people tell me all about how I wasn't being pure to the game. lol)

Also, can someone tell me how to keybind the screaming and all that jazz? I know U opens up the chat window in game, but I don't know too much about the rest.

I know I sound like a n00b, and admittedly, I am, but I'm pretty darn good with 1, I can hold my own on Advanced and see it through to the end. I'll get better with 2.

Anyone else enjoy these games? Speak up and let your love of the zombie kill be known!

Me and Tweezy are two of them. I'm "Melvin, the Lord of Darkness" and he's "The Brewmaster" though he often changes it to "The Cosmic Fool"

My team's favorite was to start the horde, then hole up on the second floor of the barn. It works great, as long as you stay away from the windows.

"My buddy Keith tried camping out on top of a building once. He was shootin' crows, but the police were too busy teargassin' him to ask what he was doing up there. He screamed for an entire year every single time he opened his eyes! Oh man, at first it was funny, then it just got sad, but then it got funny again!"

(Ellis quickly became my favorite survivor)

What you need is a microphone. The survivors can kick and yell and scream, but they can't explain the situation nearly as well as a human being. Not to mention the in-game voice chat can be heard by all players no matter the distance, even if you're dead.

I've added you two to my list, and I'm chatting 420 as I type this.

I still love Bill, but Coach is quickly becoming my #2 in terms of favorites.
