Looking forward for college

Postby Bartmanhomer » Mon Dec 03, 2007 4:26 pm

Man o man. I can't wait for next month. The other day I sign the CUNY application to pick the six college that I'm going to. (That right, six college.) Also my mother and I also sign the finaical aid. And I mail in the application and finacial aid. I have to wait by 4 weeks to get my grants and if I accepted in by one of the six college that I go to. I'm going to go to college about by next month to see if I get accepted to that. I'll be receiving so many paperwork and all the information about by college.

It's more better than dropping out of school and not going to college.

Of course starting off, you'll be taking classes you are required to take for graduation. But when they are out of the way, its all classes for your major.

Then of course the social aspect which is always good about college. Lot of girls to meet :P

College has been good for me but I am ready to get out. I have been in college way too long. I actually recommend balancing courses required for graduation with major courses. Otherwise, you will not have any variety coursework as a junior or senior and it can be tough to get good grades.

Take it from a guy that has, dudes. I make good enough to support myself. That's it. I doubt I could pencil a pet in my budget.

Go to college. Get a degree. Get a job that will pay more than $20 an hour for your soul. Get established. Find a good girl, marry her, have two-point-five kids. Live good.

You don't want to have to wake up every day at three in the morning to go into a job where you break your back just to get your tiny paycheck. It ain't fun.

Best wishes! I hope you find a career that you'll enjoy! The only advice I have is make sure you research whatever it is that you decide to go to school for and that there is a job market out there for it.

I'm curious. What country are you from and what country are the colleges you applied to in?

Personally, I had a great time in college. I met some interesting people, and got a bunch of fun stories out of it.

That's why I duel enrolled/AP'd my courses. I came to college with 58 credits, and only 3 general education classes left before hardcore major work.

If you can duel enroll with a local community/real college and/or take AP or IB tests, I would. They can come in handy.

Did you like High School?

It always seems to me that people who hated High School love College and people that loved High School hate College.

Huh... most of the colleges I'm applying to say they don't take more than 18-or-so.

i loved college so much i keep finding more degrees to get...

Do yourself a favor though, decide early what you are going to do and follow a strict course plan. If you think you may transfer to a different school then plan accordingly. I transferred after my 2nd year and ended up having to repeat about a year's worth of credits because they didnt transfer.

I liked some of my classes (badminton, anyone?) but I hated the behavior of some of the students. Some actually made fun of some of the teachers out loud in class. One even yelled "Arbeit mach frei" in German class. Rude!!

Another thing I don't understand is why college kids wear sweatpants, hoodies, and pjs to school. Folks, this is about the hottest you'll ever be! Don't dress like a schmo. I wish I dressed a lot hotter when I was skinnier. :(

I had 2 stints in comunity, and they where cut short due to family issues.

However my friends who got to go had an awesome time, and I was always the cool guy from up north who showed up with money, enthusiasm, ans toilet paper

It's a good time, but don't forget in all the fun you are there for a reason, or else it'll all be worth nothing, avoid the trap I've seen to many fall in.

Also, take your bots and either box them up and hide them, or give them to me, cause trust me, even if your an only child, someone has eyes on your room!

Still, work hard, play hard, bring a Nintendo and you'll do well

Hey nothing wrong with being a little schmo-ish now and then. Right now I'm doing my best schmo impression in ten year old pjs. But you won't see me wearing it to work or Walmart anytime soon. :P

Ok, now that I think about it, I did dress pretty hot back then. Too bad I've been taken my entire adult life!
