No Robot Mode
Allmost all Transformers are "ROBOTS" in desguise but what about the Transformers who don't have robot modes?
All the cassets, (with the exceptions of Rumble, Frenzy, Eject, and Rewind) Sky-linx, and Nobal/Savage as far as I know are the only ones who don't have robot modes. (This is not counting the BW Mutants who never appeared on the show anyway.)
Are there any others like this? Possibly even a Transformer with 2 vehicle modes and no robot or beast modes?

I say Armada's Tidal Wave and BW Neo's Megmatron because it each figures had three Alt modes that combining together to form their combined robot mode.

Combined Robot Modes like thoughs don't count. The individual pieces don't transform at all without the other componates. I'm only talking about characters who Transform but have no robot mode. (this allso exscludes Roller who can't Transform. If we were counting non-tranforming characters he'd be counted though.)

I think Lazerbeak is another one that doesn't have a robot mode.

All of the cassettes and Sky-lynx have robot modes just because they aren't humanoid doesn't mean that they aren't robots.
Isn't the TF that just have only one mode more of an interesting topic?

This is all wrong. Robot = What all Transformers are, that's what you're talking about.
Robot Mode = Humanoid form. Hence a vehicular form is a vehicle, and a beast form is a beast mode, ect.
You wouldn't bother calling different Modes by different names if they were all robot modes. Sky-lynx Transforms from Beast Mode to Vehicle Mode, he is a robot but he doesn't have a Robot mode.

Err, I gotta disagree. Robot=Humanoid=WRONG.
A robot doesn't have to look like anything. However, if you are asking which characters don't have Humaniod Robot modes, then you may continue.

I may be wrong but isnt that why the "non vehicle, beast mode" is the alternate form, or di I have that backwards?
If I am right then it wouldn't matter if it was humanoid or not.

You didn't really read my entire post did you. I just went through all the trouble of exsplaining the difference between a "robot" and a "robot mode" for nothing.DJDrew&ScoobyDoo wrote:Err, I gotta disagree. Robot=Humanoid=WRONG.

Never said robot=humanoind
I said
robot = What all Transformers are all the time
robot "MODE" = Homanoid form
Key word there being mode not robot.

Yeah, but you were saying that the likes of Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, Sky Lynx et al didn't have robot modes, and they do. Those beast modes are their robot modes. By the same token Raindance and Grandslam's vehicle modes are actually their robot modes. But in answer to your actual question, I think you basically covered the range of non-humanoid TFs. These are all the ones I can think of...
Buzzsaw
Laserbeak
Ravage
Overkill
Slugfest
Beastbox
Squawktalk
Steeljaw
Ramhorn
Zauru (Saur)
Gurafi (Graphy)
Dairu (Dial)
Noizu (Noise)
Sky Lynx
And, yeah, there was the Beast Changer Savage/Noble.
And just because the Mutants never showed up in a series doesn't discount them as characters. In fact of all of them, they probably count most. With the others, the beast etc. modes are the robot modes. The Mutants actually lost their robot modes.
[EDIT] Also just thought of the Headmasters, Lione, Shuffler and Trizer.

n.
• A mechanical device that sometimes resembles a human and is capable of performing a variety of often complex human tasks on command or by being programmed in advance.
• A machine or device that operates automatically or by remote control.
• A person who works mechanically without original thought, especially one who responds automatically to the commands of others.
Read the bolded bits.
Robots don't necessarily need to resemble a human (see robots on factory lines)
Just save yourself the hassle and say "What TF's don't have a humanoid non-alt mode?"

As Ramrider and Burn just stated, the term alt. (alternate) mode is the mode that TF takes on when they are in disguise and the robot mode is the mode that they take when they are not in disguise. They don't have to be a humanoid robot to be in robot mode.
Not all robots are humanoid, which is why we have a term for humanoid robot (android).

Why count them as Robot "Mode" at all when they are robots in EVERY mode. The way you describe it makes no logical sense. And seems to have been brought up out of the blue to just hijack the topic.
The Robot "Mode" only refers to their humanoid form. Go to any web site and you'll see 4 basic catigorys. Beast, Vehicle, Random Objects, and Robot. Beast obviously refers to modes such as animal like forms (weather they be natural looking or robotic they still count as beast modes). Vehicle mode obviously refers to any form of transportation. Random Object are the other misc. items such as Tape Players, Cameras, weapons, ect. Robot mode are anything that doesn't fall under the first 4 catigorys and guess whhat? The only thing that doesn't fall under the first 3 catigorys are their Humanoid forms.
When the hell have you ever heard of any site refer to a "Humanoid Mode"
And Burn your definition has no relivence. We're not argueing weather or not the Transformers are Robots. The whole thing has to do with what their Humanoid forms are refered to as. No matter where you look you're going to see "Robot Mode" refering to humanoid forms, nothing elce.

Does it really matter what "mode" the fictional creations are classified in?

Wow, if you don't like it when threads are "hijacked" then you better look for a different TF forum (just a friendly warning).
If you agree that all TFs are robots, which seems obvious, then why do you have a problem with the idea that robot mode refers to showing yourself as your real robot form (which may or may not be humanoid).
Alternate mode = being in disguise as an Earth item
Robot mode = showing that you are a robot (humanoid or not)
Maximals being in beast mode is not the same thing as Sky-lynx being in his robot mode (which happens to be beasts not humanoid).

There is no real robot form. No matter what mode they're in they're still robots weather they be in alt mode or not. this seems like a rediculous argument of semantics and i'm going to be kicking myself for throwing my hat into the ring later, but....
the way i've always seen it, a transformer has two modes (ignoring triple-changers etc.) these two modes have, have been, and should be called "Alt-mode" and "robot mode."
robot mode is the form that the character is most useful in. it talks, does stuff, moves around, fights, etc.
alt-mode is the disguise that it turns into (that sometimes has its own useful functionality as well.)
you were mentioning "beast mode" and, to me, that has always just been the same thing as calling the "alt-mode" the "car mode" or "jet mode." Grimlock has a "beast mode." so does Cheetor, Optimus Primal, or anyone else in Beast Wars. ratbat, ravage, etc. do NOT have beast-modes, because the 'animal form' is not the disguise, but rather, the form they take when NOT in disguise. Ravage is a cat-shaped robot that turns into a cassette tape.
and thats my two cents on this subject. don't spend it all in one place.

I'm merely trying to assist you in getting your message across. Think of it as "non-disguise mode". That works for me.
